REPCO JOONDALUP WINS INAUGURAL REPCO
REACH STORE OF THE YEAR AWARD
September, 2007 - All 287 Repco stores across Australia and the teams that run
them strive to deliver their trade and retail customers the best possible range,
service, price and advice on a daily basis.
As Australia’s largest trade and retail supplier of automotive parts, tools and
accessories, high emphasis is placed on each Repco store being a total one-stop
destination to meet any of their customers’ specific automotive product requirements.
In order to action this universal goal, Repco has introduced the company’s own
Recognition of Excellence, Achievement, Commitment and High Performance
(REACH) Awards program this year.
Repco’s annual REACH Awards reward the Repco stores and individual team
members that have achieved extraordinary levels of excellence in every area of their
trade and retail operations across the country. The judging criteria for these awards
included standards of store presentation, sales figures, expense control and customer
service, as judged by a nationwide mystery shopper program.
The five state finalists for the Repco National Store of the Year Award were Taren
Point (NSW), Leongatha (VIC), Mount Barker (SA/TAS), Joondalup (WA) and
Winnellie (QLD/NT). Each of these finalists received a $500 incentive prize for each
staff member and
an accolade recognising this major achievement from nearly 300 stores across the
country vying for this award.
The national Repco REACH Store of the Year winner is Repco Joondalup (WA).
According to Repco’s National Operations Manager Wayne Bryant, “The standard of
management and presentation in each of our five finalist stores was first class, in
some cases, without question the best that I have seen in my time at Repco. While the
passion and commitment to the business demonstrated by each of the managers and
their teams was fantastic, the pride of the managers and their teams after winning their
state awards was something to behold and they should be very proud of their results.
However in the end there could only be one winner of this prestigious award and we
congratulate the inaugural Repco REACH National Store of Year, Repco Joondalup.”
“I know the entire business will join me in congratulating Gary Rogers and the team at
Repco Joondalup on this outstanding achievement,” Mr Bryant added.

Repco Joondalup Store Manager, Gary Rogers, was presented with this major award
at the Repco REACH National Awards Gala Dinner, which was held at the Melbourne
Aquarium on Friday August 24.
According to Mr Rogers, “We are honoured to win this prestigious award ahead of our
colleagues from all over the country. The Repco REACH Program is all about the
commitment of the team. At Joondalup we work for each other, the store does not
have any super-stars, but it does have a complete team of people who are dedicated
to each other and to the success of the store. At Joondalup we also have some very
loyal customers that make our job that much easier.”
Each staff member of the Repco Joondalup store takes a share of the $10,000 major
prize and a recognition award that confirms Repco Joondalup’s status as Repco’s
national Store of the Year.
The Repco REACH program ensures that every Repco team member strives to
combine the highest levels of customer service with increased sales and profitability
results through skilled management expertise. The program also recognises how
important each staff member is in ensuring that Repco’s valued customers keep
returning.
