This issue of the Bostelegram deals mostly with the coming examinations and control test series, so it
is important that parents and students alike take note of the following arrangements:




The examination for the Gr 12 learners will start on Monday 1 September. It is a standard
examination and the matrics will write the National Common paper except in two
subjects, namely Business Studies and Economics. This means that the standard, format
and duration of all the papers will be exactly that of the November Senior Certificate
examination. The September examination will obviously, and very importantly, also count
towards the final mark of the Gr 12s. Let asseblief daarop op dat die Gr 12eksamenrooster deur die Nasionale Departement van Onderwys verskaf is en dat ons
geen wysigings kan aanbring nie.
The Gr 8-11 students will write a control test series under examination conditions. These
control tests are prescribed by the curriculum, but the periods are not long enough to
write these tests. ‘n Alternatiewe reëling moes dus getref word en die toetsreeks begin op
Maandag 8 September. Please study the attached timetable. Die toetsreeks eindig elke
dag om 11:00, maar gr 8-9 leerders sal nog daagliks na die toetsreeks oefen vir hul Kuns
en Kultuur praktiese punt volgens ‘n vasgestelde rooster.
Leerders sal elke dag skryf en moet elke dag werk skool toe bring om te studeer. There
will be a period before the control tests start, to revise, so students must bring work to
school to study. This is NOT enough preparation for the tests, however! The work your child
has to prepare for the test series appears elsewhere in the Bostelegram.
Die punte van die toetsreeks tel ook vir die leerders se DASS-punte (jaarpunt) vir die
einde van die jaar. Dit moet dus met die nodige erns bejeen word en ons vra u
samewerking hiermee.
