How to Participate on the Trips
RTO now requires that show & meal payment and bus payment be made with
two cheques even though both cheques for each trip will be mailed to Maret.
Complete the generic coupon and mail the cheques to Maret SademThompson to reserve your seats for these fun filled events. Note the deadline
and date your cheques accordingly 40 days prior to each trip. In the past,
these ticket reservations have been snapped up quickly. To avoid
disappointment, mail in your orders promptly and email Maret your intention
to attend the function. The RTO Trip Waiver found on our web site and in
the Dustoff newsletter MUST BE INCLUDED with your order.

Wed. April 20, 2016 - The Judas Kiss at the Royal Alexandra Theatre
This requested but unconfirmed booking with Mirvish contains nudity and
scenes of an adult nature. Rupert Everett plays Oscar Wilde in David Hare’s
The Judas Kiss - a compelling drama about the power of all-consuming love
and the cruelty of betrayal. The Times reports “Rupert Everett carries Wilde
tragedy to perfection” and gives the production 5 stars.
Depart from the south Oshawa Walmart lot at Laval and Stevenson at 10:45
a.m. or from Pickering at the Canadian Tire lot at Brock Rd. just north of the
401 at 11:00. Return to Durham by 6 p.m.

Tues. April 26, 2016 - A Chorus Line at the Festival Theatre in
Stratford with lunch on your own in town
This Pulitzer Prize winning musical changed the course of Broadway with a
run that lasted 15 years. It features such unforgettable numbers as “What I
Did for Love”, “At the Ballet”, “Dance Ten Looks Three” and the spectacular
finale, “One (Singular Sensation)”. Canada’s top director-choreographer,
Donna Feore, re-imagines this legendary musical for the Festival Theatre. A
not-to-be-missed theatrical event.

Tues. May 31, 2016 - Alice In Wonderland at the Shaw Festival
Theatre in Niagara-0n-The-Lake with lunch on your own in town
A compelling new version of Lewis Carroll’s classic and beloved tale of a
young woman’s journey to adulthood. The ever curious and ever questioning
Alice goes down the rabbit hole to a land of wonder, where logic is illogical
and the absurd makes sense. Written specifically for the Shaw Festival’s
Ensemble, Peter Hinton’s Alice in Wonderland will be set in the Victorian
world of Oxford and use a dazzling combination of contemporary technology
and old-fashioned magic.

Wed. June 15, 2016 - A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder at the
Royal Alexandra Theatre
This requested but unconfirmed booking with Mirvish “Restores our faith in
musical comedy”. It won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Musical. Gentleman’s
Guide tells the uproarious story of Monty Navarro, a distant heir to a family
fortune who sets out to jump the line of succession by eliminating the eight
pesky relatives (all played by one fearless man) who stand in his way. All
the while, he’s got to juggle his mistress (she’s after more than just love),
his fiancee (she’s his cousin, but whose keeping track?) and the constant
threat of landing behind bars! Of course it will all be worth it if he can slay
his way to his inheritance…and be done in time for tea.

Thurs. July 7, 2016 - St. Jacob’s Farmers Market/Town and Macbeth
at Stratford
Explore St. Jacobs Market or Town and enjoy lunch on your own. Reboard
the bus and travel to Stratford for Shakespeare’s darkest tragedy, Macbeth,
in which murderous ambition meets the dark forces of destiny as the original
power couple conspire to seize the throne of Scotland. Director Antoni
Cimolino promises it will contain everything that makes your skin crawl!

the Lighthouse Festival Theatre preceded by Pickerel Lunch at the
Erie Beach Hotel
Local hero, Raymond Bream, is running in the federal election, and has come
back to his hometown of Port Walmsley to make a major campaign
announcement that just might put him over the top. Meanwhile, the
incumbent he’s running against has sent a couple of henchmen to town to
prevent Raymond from making that announcement - by any means
necessary. The showdown between the two camps and the bumbling
henchmen will have you laughing all afternoon!

Tues. September 20, 2016 - Our Town at the Royal George Theatre in
Niagara-on-the-lake with lunch at the Benchmark Restaurant
This Pulitzer Prize-winning drama is a classic tale of Americana set in the
fictional town of Grover’s Corners between 1901 and 1913. Our Town finds
beauty in the simple, fleeting moments of ordinary days. Molly Smith,
renowned for her ability to dig deep in Americana, returns to the Shaw
Festival having previously directed My Fair Lady in 2011.
Preceded by a delicious gourmet lunch at the Benchmark Restaurant which

Never before produced at Stratford, this inspirational tale follows four children
who fulfill their destiny in the mythical land of Narnia with the help of the wise lion
Aslan. Tim Carroll directs this production.
