You Can Bring Happiness to a Child in Guatemala…Here’s How! Alabama-Guatemala partners is a chapter of the Partners of the Americas (www.partners.net) organization, the largest volunteer-based organization in the western hemisphere engaged in social, economic, and cultural development. Each year the Alabama-Guatemala partnership sponsors a project to send shoeboxes filled with gifts for children to impoverished children in orphanages, schools, and villages in Guatemala. The UAB Nursing Student Association is supporting the project this year! Here’s what to do if you’d like to participate: 1. Fill a shoebox with gifts appropriate for children of specific ages, such as toys, school supplies, socks, etc. Please attach a check (payable to Alabama Partners of the Americas) for $5 to defray shipping costs. 2. Wrap your box, lid and box separately, with bright paper. 3. Bring your box to Room 420 in the UAB School of Nursing by March 1, 2015, or contact Lynda Wilson (205) 934 6787 or lyndawilson@uab.edu so she can collect your box(es). 4. Please fill in and tape the following form to each box: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The enclosed gifts in this box are FREE Christmas gifts for a boy ___ girl ___ (check one), aged ____ in Guatemala.
