INTRODUCTION
Ovid Technologies is pleased to present a proposal for access to Ovid’s premier, most
trusted, and highly cited medical book content. In fact, with hundreds of titles now
licensed, Ovid Technologies boasts the largest online medical book collection available
today! This is a wonderful opportunity to expand its electronic book offerings to provide
med students, researchers, faculty members and clinicians with immediate, desktop
access from campus, healthcare setting or home to Ovid’s global server in the United
State, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Electronic BooksBooks@Ovid - Books@ Ovid includes electronic versions of important and trusted
reference textbooks from Publishers like Lippincott Williams & Wilkins and McGraw-Hill.
With a focus on medical, nursing and drug-related content, Books@ Ovid aggregates
and delivers to the desktop many texts from different publishers under a single search
engine and Web interface to search, retrieve, browse and display book content.
 Currently the largest online medical book library in the world- over 280 licensed
titles, with 163 available online now.
 100% searchability of all words, graphics, captions etc across all books
subscribed to. (Search one, or multiple books together)
 Always the latest version! Updated as new editions are released. (Some titles
updated monthly or quarterly.)
 Never lose a book or suffer from torn out pages- makes a single copy ubiquitous
to your entire community- anytime, anywhere!
 Access to external websites referenced in the book - link to these URL’s without
leaving the Books@Ovid session.
 Books’ now starting to incorporate multimedia files – I.e. Textbook of
Cardiovascular Medicine includes sound and video files. The video files require
QuickTime (link to free download appended to each video caption). Also,
Devita’s Cancer 6/E features 6 videos with sound.
 Easy navigation one click between book table of contents to chapters – most of
our books now offer chapter TOCs that are at least 2 divisions deep, so that you

OVID is offering two Brandon Hill Collections. Both collections are priced for 16 sites (a
combination of hospitals and academic institutions). Since the sites are not defined in
this proposal, it is assumed these sites do not currently have a subscription to
Books@OVID.
