2. Comparison between Hinduism and Buddhism – Explain, in depth, the origins
of Buddhism and the similarities (3) and differences (3) between Buddhism and
Hinduism.
3. Life of Prince Siddhartha – Retell the life of Prince Siddhartha, while identifying
the significant events in his life. Explain how the four sights that he saw helped
determine the main beliefs in Buddhism.
4. Five Precepts – Identify the five precepts for ALL Buddhists and point out
similarities to Christianity.
5. Four Noble Truths – What is the common theme? Identify each of the “truths”.
Provide one specific example of how to overcome this struggle in Buddhism.
6. Eightfold Path – Identify each of the steps of the Eightfold Path and for each,
provide a real-life example of how it can be practiced.
7. Three Refuges – Identify each of the Three Refuges and for each, explain how they
are practiced in Buddhism today.
8. Buddhist Festivals – Explain the meaning behind each festival and any rituals
associated with them (Buddha Day, Dhamma Day, Sangha Day, Songkran)
9. Divisions of Buddhism – Briefly explain the various schools of Buddhism
(Theravada, Mahayana, Vajrayana, Zen)
