There is comedy, magic, love and a little mischief in each production. PMB's special Girl Scout Night! is an "open-curtain" performance in which the audience gets to observe the entire production, including warm-up. After the performance there will be a Q&A session with the entire company. A custom designed patch is included with ALL performances. Additional performances are available. Girl Scouts will receive a patch; however, there will be no warm-up viewing or Q&A on these dates. By watching a fine arts performance, girls gain an appreciation for the arts, which can help develop a strong sense of self. A beautiful, color, princess style certificate will be given to each girl for completing the course. The troop will need to provide the food and the "tea". We will provide the china, utensils and napkins. The troop can reserve a space at a restaurant for a genuine big girl experience. Grade Levels Served - Cadettes, Seniors, Ambassadors Program Description: Cadette, Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts will have an etiquette refresher with more of an emphasis on how they present themselves to the world beyond the school doors. How they judge others for their surface appearances and how they wish to be seen during job or other interview situations. This active discourse is a 2 hour class. The cost is $15 per girl including all materials and a light snack. Each of the classes can be done at your meeting space or at one of the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas offices depending on your troops needs. Girls Scouts are involved in a living “herstory” project when they write a 500-word essay on The Most Significant Thing That Happened to Women This Year or The Most Influential Woman in My Life. This international “herstory” project and essay contest can be an individual or Girl Scout Troop project. An essay, a scrapbook, and an archive project, this international program chronicles the story of local and international women in our own words. Yogakids offers physical exercise in a noncompetitive way allowing girls of all ability to participate. Ways to handle emotions and stress are offered allowing the girls to develop tools to navigate their emotional development and to self nurture. Health and wellness are key points in the program. Yogakids explores yoga poses to allow physical fitness, relaxation, and stress reduction. Transport yourself into a famous scene from a well known movie. Using a “green screen” and special software, you have the ability to portray an actor in a snippit of a famous film. This exercise allows the students to see themselves as others do in different situations. After the students film themselves in the scene, then it can be replayed. Several “takes” can be done using different facial and vocal techniques. Most violence against young women is at the hands of someone they know. A GTW counselor will begin the workshop talking about healthy relationships, and what young women need to know to be safe. Our self defense expert will then use hands-on teaching as she instructs participants in how to avoid and handle dangerous situations. In this portion of the program girls will learn how their "Attitude" can deter an attack; how their "Awareness" can prevent trouble; how to "Avoid" becoming a victim; and "Action" moves to get out of trouble.
