10th Annual Brockport High School Modified / Freshman / JV / Varsity Cheerleading Competition Welcome to Brockport High School’s 10th Annual Cheerleading Competition to be held on Sunday, October 17th at SUNY Brockport. This competition is open to all Modified (including recreation 7th and 8th grade teams) Freshman, JV and Varsity squads. Time: Teams may arrive at 8:00 am. Coaches meeting will be held at 9:00 am. Individuals begin at 9:30. Team Competition to start at 11:00 am. Requirements for Individuals: A maximum of 1min 30 sec routine that contains a cheer, dance, and 3 jumps (any). Tumbling is optional, but will increase score for difficulty. **Open to all 7th – 12th graders. Divisions will follow grade. Requirements for Stunt Team: A maximum of 1min 30 sec stunt routine. Must follow National Federation Rules. **Stunt groups must have members of their own team. No more than 1 male allowed per group, max 5 members. Requirements for Cheer Dance: Routine must not exceed 2min 30 sec. One jump performed by entire team At least one stunt / pyramid must be done At least one person must tumble Time will begin with first movement or music Cost: $100 per team (nonrefundable) by October 10th. Individuals $10 (nonrefundable) per person. Stunt team $25 (nonrefundable) per group. Spectator admission is $5. Checks may be made out to Brockport Cheerleading Boosters Rules/Judges: National Federation Guideline rules will be followed. Judges will be certified. Divisions: Divisions will be determined by squad size and level. In the event that many schools register the same number of participants, school size will then be considered. Divisions will be kept small to encourage a fun and positive experience. This will be determined after registration. Scoring: In the event of a tie, the lowest score will be dropped. Music/Awards: There will be a sound system available for your use. There will be time at the beginning to test your tape / CD. Please have a back up ready if anything should happen to your music. Awards will be given out to all teams participating. Grand Champion T shirts will be given to the FR / JV in the first session with the highest score AND Varsity team in the second session with the highest score! Anticipated Order of Events: 8:00 am Teams arrive, warmup for individuals and stunt teams. 9:00 am Brief Coaches meeting 9:30 am Individuals and stunt teams compete beginning with 8th graders 9:30 – 10:45 Warm up FR and JV teams on mats 11:00 am Freshman Competition begins 12:00 pm JV Competition begins 1:30 pm Freshman and JV Awards 1:45 – 2:45 Warm up Varsity teams on mats 2:45 pm Varsity Competition begins 4:45 pm Awards ***Final times and divisions will be sent after registration, the week of October 10 through email. There will be t-shirts for sale and various vendors. ***No balloons are allowed for safety reasons! ***** We have a cheer floor that both individuals / stunt teams AND team competition will be performed on. It is a 54’ X 42’ (9 panel) floor. We are very excited to offer this at our tournament! There will NOT be a penalty for going off the mat, however, it can be dangerous for your team members to tumble and jump off the mat.
