1. WELCOME - First of all, I would like to welcome the new recruits to our units. Cadets DeAndrea Hoeffner, and Issac
Vermillion. Please welcome them to our unit. We have a few more joining our ranks in the coming months. Remember
Headquarters started the “Three for Free.” Recruit three in a year and get a training for free.
2. ATTENDANCE – Starting 01 January your attendance will be reviewed quarterly instead of annually. NSCC Regulations state
that you must attend 75% of all scheduled drills. That is four of six drills per quarter. If you do not meet this minimum standard,
SPONSORED BY THE GREENSBORO COUNCIL OF THE NAVY LEAGUE OF THE UNITED STATES
http://www.seacadets.org
you will be administratively warned. If you continue to fail to meet minimum attendance standards, you will be discharged from the
NSCC/NLCC.
2. SUPPLY – We are in the process of shifting to the Service Dress Whites. Our new Recruits will have priority in getting
uniforms. We are also trying to shift to the NWU (Navy Working Uniforms) to replace the old BDU’s. That is still our primar y
uniform if you do not have your NWU’s yet. NSCC will be getting the NWU and the NLCC will stay with the BDU’s. We will
doing more fund raising to fund more of these shifts. We are also trying to fund PT gear.
3. COURSES - All Cadets are required to complete the courses. You are required to complete the course that is required of you.
A reminder to those Cadets who have successfully completed Recruit Training: your advancement to E-2 will be delayed until you
complete the BMR. Please e-mail the Training Officer if you have any questions.
4. INCREASE YOUR KNOWLEDGE - Find out everything you wanted to know about the U. S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps on the
NSCC Online Portal: http://homeport.seacadets.org/, or www.seacadets.org, www.greensborodivision.org,
5. ADMIN – Please watch out with your ID card for enrollment. If you are coming up on your re-enrollment date, please ensure
you coordinate with the Personnel Officer in the Admin Office. If you have lost your ID card please contact your chain of
command.
6. TRAINING – Congratulations to the ones that graduated from training. I enjoyed watching our cadets walking across with their
certificates. They earned it! I will make it a point to go to every graduation of our cadets. We had Petty Officer Second Class
Williams and Petty Officer Second Class (Sel) Best Completed their training in Charlotte at “Hand to Hand Training.”
7. REPORT CARDS – Do not forget to bring in a copy of your report cards for XO for review and possible awards of the
Academic Achievement Ribbon. The award of this ribbon has been extended to NLCC Cadet as well.
