Animal Farm Project Choose one project from the options given. The final project is expected to be neat, edited, and practiced. All projects require a well-rehearsed and organized presentation. Remember to cite all sources. Write and present a song or speech that could be used to unite a group and urge them to rebel. Identify the group for whom the song/speech is written. Your song/speech should be at least one minute and thirty seconds in length. You will perform the song/speech, explain its meaning and the method by which it would inspire rebellion. Create a fictional utopia of your own. In small groups, discuss/brainstorm your ideal utopia. Create a detailed society and a specific governmental system. Consider: democracy, oligarchy, capitalism, communism, socialism, etc. Research each and decide on your governmental/economic media, personal freedoms, religion/rituals, values, family, natural resources, class system, and laws. Draw a map of your utopia, indicating the name and the capital. Create a comic book that depicts at least one important event of the novel. Include the exposition, plot, climax, and resolution of the scene. The comic book should be colored and fastened in booklet form. After re-reading the ending of Animal Farm, write a new ending to the novel. Before writing, consider questions such as "Why did the story end this way," "What was the author trying to say with his story ending?" and "Do you think it was a good ending?" These questions will start the creative process. Be sure you follow Orwell’s style and maintain a serious message. Your ending should be typed and at least two pages long. Choose one of the following essay topics, research, and write the paper. In a well-written and researched essay, draw parallels between events in Animal Farm and today’s government. Provide examples of governmental policies that erode the rights of the electorate. “People are too well informed to adhere to a set of rules or to simply follow a leader over a distant hill. They want to be inspired by a greater purpose.” Ann Fudge and Sir Francis Bacon observed that “knowledge is power” and John Maxwell adds that knowledge empowers. Write an expository essay describing how these two statements contribute to the necessary attributes of a responsible electorate. Date Due__________________________________
