Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close – Jonathan Safran Foer
The Assignment
In Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, Jonathan Safran Foer uses various
visual images to enhance the story of Oskar and his family. Your assignment
is to choose three significant visual images from the novel and write a 250
word response to each. Your response should convey your emotional response
to the image and provide an explanation of why you feel the image is
significant to the novel.
Along with each of your responses, include either a scan or photocopy of the
image that is the basis for your response.
Be prepared to submit your three responses on the first week of class.
