1)
The Silly Song
Ho-la la-ee-ay Ho-la-la-ee-ay Ho-la-la-ee-ay-ee-la-ee-ay-ee-lee-ay Ho-la-la-ee-ay Hola-la-ee-ay Ho-la-la- lee-ay-lee-la-lee-ay-lee-o-lee-ay.
Verse
a) I’d like to dance and tap my feet but they won’t keep in rhythm. You see I washed
them both today and I can’t do nothin’ with them.
b) The minute after I was born I didn’t have a niightie. So I tied my whiskers ‘round my
legs and used them for my didie.
c) I chased a pole cat up a tree way out upon a limb. An’ when he got the best o’ me I
got the worst o’ him.
d) We used to have a billy goat we had him disinfected. He could have slep’ in Grumpy’s
bed but the billy goat objected.
Chorus Ho hum the tune is dumb, the words don’t mean a thing. Isn’t this a silly song for
anyone t’ sing.
2)
The Work Song
Cinderela, Cinderella, All I hear is Cinderella, from the moment that I get up, till shades
of night are falling,
There isn’t any let up, I hear them calling, calling Go up and do
the attic and go down and do the cellar, you can
do them both together, Cinderella.
How lovely it would be if I could live my fantasy. But in the middle of my dreaming
they’re screaming at me…..
3)
Alice in Wonderland
Alice in Wonderland, How do you get to Wonderland? Over the hill or underland or just
behind the tree. When clouds go rolling by, They roll away and leave the sky. Where is
the land beyond the eye that people cannot see. Where can it be? Where do stars go?
Where is the crescent moon? They must be somewhere in the sunny afternoon. Alice in
Wonderland, Where is the path to Wonderland. Over the hill or here or there? I
wonder where.
4)
I’m Wishing
I’m Wishing, for the one I love, to find me, today. I’m hoping, And I’m dreaming of, the
nice things, he’ll say. Tell me wishing well, Will my wish come true? With your magic
spell, Won’t you tell my loved one what to do? I’m wishing, for the one I love, to
find me, today.
5)
Whistle While You Work
Just WWYW (Whistle) Put on that grin and start right in, To whistle loud and long.
Just hum a merry tune (Hum) Just do your best then take a rest, And sing yourself a
song. When there’s too much to do, Don’t let it bother you, Forget your troubles, Try to
be just like a cheerful chickadee, And WWYW (Whistle) Come on, get smart,
Tune up and start, To WWYW

Song of the Diddy Men
D-I-D-D-Y We are the diddy men itty bitty diddy men. We are the diddy men who
always have a bash. We’re full of diddy joys we make a giant diddy noise. We are
the
diddy men who come from Knotty Ash. In diddy socks, diddy shoes, diddy shirts,
diddy trews around the diddy city we sing a diddy ditty. We are the diddy
men,
Doddy’s dotty diddy men. We are the diddy men who come from Knotty Ash. DANCE
We are the Diddy men itty bitty diddy men. We are the diddy men who always have a
bash. We hope it doesn’t rain and wash us down the ditty drain. We are the diddy
men who come from Knotty Ash. In diddy hats, diddy smocks, money in our diddy box.
We march around the circus singing up the diddy workers. We are the diddy men
Doddy’s dotty diddy men. We are the diddy men so let the cymbal crash. We’re diddy
men…..from Knotty
Ash.
7)
The Ugly Bug Ball
Verse
a) Once a lonely caterpiller sat and cried, to a sympathetic beetle by his side, I’ve got
nobody to hug I’m such an ugly bug. Then a spider and a dragon fly replied, If
you’re serious and want to win a bride. Come along with us, to the glorious, annual
ugly bug ball.
Chorus
Come on let’s crawl (gotta crawl, gotta crawl) to the ugly bug ball (to the ball, to the
ball) and a happy time we’ll have there, One and all at the ugly bug ball.
b) While the crickets clicked their tricky melodies, all the ants were fancy dancing with
the fleas. Then up from under the ground, the worms came squirming around.
Oh they danced until their legs were nearly lame, Every little crawling creature you can
name. Every one was glad, what a time they had, they were so happy they came.
Chorus
c) Then our caterpiller saw a pretty queen, she was beautiful in yellow black and green.
He said would you care to dance? Their dancing led to romance. Then she sat
upon his caterpiller knees and he gave his caterpiller queen a squeeze. Soon they’ll
honeymoon, build a big cocoon, thanks to the ugly bug ball.
Chorus
8)
My Brother
Who put salt in the sugar bowl? Who put fireworks in the coal? Who put a real live toad
in the hole? My Brother. Who put jam in Mother’s shoe? Who made real caterpiller
stew? Who locked Grandad in the loo? My brother. My brother said it wasn’t he who put
some shampoo in Grandma’s tea. My brother said that it was me. (My brothe’s
rotten). Who squeezed toothpaste round the hall? Who put soot in the baby’s ball? Who
drew things on the garden wall? My brother.
Who’s pet mouse made Auntie shriek? Who ate glue and couldn’t speak? What clever
Dick was sick for a week? My brother. Who keeps maggots in a tin? Plays the twist on
the violin? Who’s been getting at the gin? My brother. He looks just like a chimney
sweep but dirt they say is just skin deep. I know he’s good when he’s asleep ( But you
don’t know what he’s dreamin’ about!) Who won’t mind if I ride his bike? Who lets me
shoot his gun if I like? Who says I am best of all? My brother.
9)
Hi-Diddle-Dee-Dee
Hi-diddle-dee-dee an actors life for me. A high silk hat and a silver cane, A watch of
gold with a diamond chain. Hi-diddle-dee-dee you sleep till after two, You promenarde
with a big cigar, You tour the world in a private car, You dine on chicken and caviar, An
actor’s life for me.
Verse -The grass is always greener in the other fellow’s yard. No matter what your life
may be you think your life is hard. If we could pick and choose and nature wasn’t a
factor, There’s a bit of news, I’d pick the life of an actor.
10)
I’m a little Tea-pot
I’m a little tea pot short and stout, Here is my handle , here is my spout. When I get my
steam up then I shout, Just tip me up and pour me out. I’m a very clever pot it’s true,
Here’s an example what I can do. I can change my handle and my spout, Just tip me up
and pour me out. Polly put the kettle on and we’ll all have tea Grandma used to sing. Tho’
the fashion seems to change in so many ways, Yet to the pot we cling. Oh, I’m a little tea
pot short and stout, Here is my handle, here is my spout. I can change my handle or my
spout, Just tip me up and pour me out.
11)
Me and My Teddy Bear
Me and my teddy bear have no worries, Have no care. Me and my teddy bear just play
and play all day. I love my teddy bear, He’s got one eye and got no hair, But I love my
teddy bear, we play and play all day. Ev’ry night he’s with me when I climb up the
stairs, and by my bed he listens until I say my prayers. Oh, me and my teddy bear
have no worries have no care. Me and my teddy bear just play and play all day.
12)
When You Wish upon a Star
When you wish upon a star, makes no diff’rence who you are, Anything your heart
desires will come to you. If your heart is in your dream, no request is too extreme,
When you wish upon a star as dreamers do. Fate is kind, She brings to those who love,
the sweet ful-filment of their secret longing. Like a bolt out of the blue, Fate steps in
and sees you thro’, When you wish upon a star your dream comes true.
13)
Ragtime Cowboy Joe/I’m an Indian Too
He always sings, raggy music to the cattle as he swings, back and forward in the saddle
on a horse, that is syncopated gaited, And there’s such a funny metre to the roar of his
repeater. How they run, when they hear that fellow’s gun, Because the western folks all
know. He’s a high faluting, scooting, shooting son of a gun from Arizona, Ragtime cowboy
Joe.
Like the Seminole, Navajo, Kickapoo, Like the Cherokee, I’m an Indian too, a Sioux, oohooh, A Sioux, ooh-ooh. Just like Battle-ax, Hatchet-Face, Eagle-Nose, Like those
Indians I’m an Indian too. A Sioux, ooh-ooh, A Sioux, ooh-ooh. Some Indian Summer’s
day without a care. I may run away with Big Chief Son-of-a Bear and I’ll wear
moccassins, wam-pum beads, feather hats, which will go to prove I’m an Indian too. A
Sioux, ooh-ooh, A Sioux..
