The judges liked the breadth of content and the graphics in this paper.
3rd Place: The Peninsula Outlook – Peninsula High School. The judges
said thi newspaper was a well-executed publication with great headlines and
good layout. It went beyond the usual high school topics with relevant,
meaty stories.
2nd Place: The Apple Leaf – Wenatchee High School. The judges said
this paper is a well-conceived publication with in-depth features and a good
layout. They thought the paper covered difficult topics very well.
And, 1st Place in high schools with more than 1,000 students:
The Roosevelt News – Roosevelt High School, Seattle. There was stiff
competition in this category…but the judges felt this paper was the best.
They said it contained in-depth news on a wide range of topics…interesting
covers…and creative design and layout.
