From N Thomlinson. I have removed most of the weed from the beck I should finish
it this week. One main area of concern is the build up of silt and weed either side of
the bridge near the thatched cottage on Beck Isle. This problem needs addressing or
eventually the build up will stop the flow of water. The thatched cottage is one of the
most photographed properties in North Yorkshire, when you stand on the bridge to
take a photo then look over at the beck it looks a mess.

Residents of Sanctuary Housing are complaining about the upkeep of the land around
the houses; for instance the grass not being cut etc. They pay an annual service charge
for upkeep but little or nothing appears to be carried out. The residents would like the
Council to take over the upkeep of the area and would pay the service charge to the
Council instead of to Sanctuary Housing.
