CIMA Resits Frequently asked questions I have failed my exam, how can I rebook? If you are a self sponsored student then please complete the necessary information from the website and submit it directly to us. If your employer is paying the fee for your courses then we will need a signature in order to invoice your company – you can email your completed forms to us via cimaexams@bpp.com with your mangers approving signature or PO number is required. Can you send me the forms to complete? You can complete the form online in order to book your place on the course and exam and submit it through our website direct – it will go straight to our customer services team and you will receive a response within 48 hours confirming your place. Please complete as much information as possible making sure to inform us of your CIMA contact ID. It would be great if you can inform us of your BPP student number too. When will I receive confirmation I have a place? We will send you confirmation of your place within 48 hours of receiving your completed form – it is usually much quicker than this as we know how important your place on the exams are. If you do not hear from us within this time frame please can you kindly call us on 0845 226 2422 Option 3. Formal confirmation will be available via your MY CIMA account approximately 1 month before the exam. You must print and bring this to your exam. Can I have an AM/PM exam slot? Unfortunately it is very difficult to deal with requests for specified time slots. We sometimes only have one exam session running and that could be in the morning or afternoon so it would be difficult for us to accommodate many students’ requests for specific exam sessions. How do I pay my exam fee? You can pre-pay your exam entry by debit/credit card before the debt of the exam fee is applied to your account. To do this sign in to My CIMA and select ‘My Financials’ then ‘Settle my account’ – please only do this once you have received confirmation from us your place is booked. When will I receive my online access? You will receive your online access within 48 hours of your booking being processed. Please be aware that if you already have an online account with us you will not be sent new log in details these will be the same as before. If you can’t remember these or are struggling to log in please let us know. I have got Pass Assurance how does this affect my exam booking? What do I get? If you are eligible for pass assurance we offer an online resit course which you can book free of charge to help you specifically prepare for your resit exam. In the unfortunate instance you fail your resit exam we will extend your pass assurance again for that paper to the May sitting, so you can still book a revision course free of charge. Do you offer anything else for Strategic Level resits? If you are resitting any of the strategic papers you can purchase a PC-based Question Day for £150. You will sit a brand new mock exam in one of our centres, with a preseen specific Section A question on a PC. Your scripts will be marked and returned to you, and you will be given tips and advice on how to use Word and Excel in your resit exam. . Which exams are sat on computer and which paper based? The exams that are sat on computer only are the 3 strategic papers – P3, E3 and F3. The Paper based exams are E1, F1 and P1 and also E2, F2 and P2. Why can only strategic students sit the computer based practice day? This is because the strategic papers are always sat computer based and the operational and management papers are sat paper based. What are the costs payable to BPP or is it just the usual price of the exam that I pay to CIMA? The exam fee is payable to CIMA and you can do this through your MyCIMA account – please only pay once you have had email confirmation from us that we have allocated you a place on your exam. If you opt to sit just the exam only through BPP there is a £ 50 administration fee payble to us PLUS the exam fee payable to CIMA. Why do you charge an exam only fee when other tuition providers don’t? We cannot comment for other providers but BPP hire in computers and pay CIMA invigilators to accommodate the resit examinations. Why do I apply through BPP to sit my exam and not CIMA? CIMA recently introduced 2 new sittings March and September which is administered through your tuition provider. This allows you to complete the qualification in a quicker time frame moving you onto the next stage of your qualification much quicker. Where can I sit my resit exam? You can sit them at your local BPP centre. (London locations to be confirmed) Why don’t you do classroom resit/revision courses? As this is a re-sit exam then the online course that we provide is designed to supplement the knowledge that you already have, and also gives flexibility for you to study whenever you want to in the run-up to the exam without having to come into class. Do I have to sit a course or can I just sit my exam? No, you don’t have to sit a course but we recommend it as it is tailored to the re-sit exam. What is the deadline for booking? The deadline for booking onto the exams with BPP is the 22 January – this deadline is provided by CIMA and BPP must adhere to this, we cannot accept any late exam bookings under any circumstances. Can I resit my TOPCIMA exam in March? Yes although this is not a resit and the exam will be brand new pre seen material– pass assurance will be valid if you have met BPP’s criteria and the retake course will be the days that pass assured students attend. When will I get my results? Your results for the March sitting assessments are released by CIMA on the 21st March. What do you cover on the online resit course? The online retake course focuses on preparing a student for the exam. It looks at common pitfalls and analyses past exam scripts. It also includes practice exam questions and targeted exam questions to improve exam skills. Tutors provide walkthroughs of past exams questions and answers. What happens if I fail the resit? Can I get a refund/defer my next course if I book now? If you were to be unsuccessful in your resit exam, we are flexible enough to always allow you to defer your course(s) to the next sitting free of charge, even if you have already attended some of the days. However, please be advised we don’t offer a refund. Why do I have to fill out a special form/why can’t I do it over phone the same way I usually do? This is to make the process more efficient for you. We specifically need all students information from CIMA ID’s to address details to book courses on our system and your exams through CIMA’s website. In previous exams I am aware there has been quarantine for students is this in place again? This has been implemented from CIMA please find below guidelines which BPP must adhere to if tuition providers like BPP run both morning and afternoon sessions for the same paper: morning candidates will be supervised by a member of centre staff for a period of 50 minutes after the morning exam has ended afternoon candidates must arrive 50 minutes before the exam commences, and will be supervised by a member of staff before they are permitted into the exam room mobile phones must be switched off candidates will not have internet or email access candidates taking toilet or smoking breaks should be accompanied by a member of centre staff tuition providers should supply candidates with information regarding quarantining arrangements for each centre.
