To assist employees with successful quit attempts and to provide
motivation to cease smoking Quit Victoria offers a range of on-site
programs run at your workplace by trained Quit Educators.
Workplace Seminar Outline
The Workplace Seminar is an information session on the various strategies to quit smoking.
It also aims to boost participant motivation to want to quit smoking.
The seminar runs between 60 and 90 minutes.
Total cost is $350.00 (GST exempt)
The maximum number of participants is 50.
It is suitable for all staff.
CONTENT
 The quitting process and “Stages of Change”
 Reasons to smoke or to quit
 Addiction: Chemical, emotional and habitual
 Quitting methods and products.
 Coping with negative experiences
 Quit services and Quitline 13 7848
The Fresh Start Course Outline
The Fresh Start Course is a supported course that helps to boost confidence to quit smoking
as well as provides resources, strategies and information to the participants about quitting
smoking and how to stay quit.
The Fresh Start Course comprises of eight one-hour sessions over four weeks
Total cost: is $1750.00 (GST exempt)
The maximum number of participants is 15.
It is an ideal course to run for motivated quitters.

 Benefits of and success in quitting
 Strategies to avoid smoking
 Support and rewards
 Short term and long term effects of smoking
 Quitting methods and aids
 Withdrawal symptoms, coping techniques and alcohol
 Avoiding weight gain
 Relaxation exercises
 Coping with stress and anger
 Planning for difficult situations and avoiding a return to smoking
The Short Course Outline
The Short Course is a course for smokers who want to quit/cut down/learn to manage their
smoking.
The Short Course comprises two three hour sessions
Sessions are 2-3 weeks apart
Quitline support between sessions (compulsory)
Total cost: is $750.00 (GST exempt)
The maximum number of participants is 15.
Session 1: Understanding your smoking and preparing to quit
Session 2: Dealing with quitting challenges and staying quit
All Quit programs are group-orientated, evaluated and constitute best practice
smoking cessation training
