Causation in construction claims: delay and
concurrency
This seminar will cover specifically:
1. Fundamental principles: contractual completion dates, the prevention principle, conditions
precedents and notice requirements, time at large, extensions of time and liquidated
damages.
2. Concurrent delay and causation.
Tom Owen is a barrister at Keating Chambers. Tom is known particularly for his legal ability and
analysis. He is often instructed to advise and to draft statements of case in disputes which are legally
complex and which require particularly detailed and precise application of the law. Tom has a special
interest in all aspects of the law of contract, tort, restitution and private international law.
Vincent Moran QC is a barrister at Keating Chambers. Vincent's practice covers a wide range of
advocacy, advisory and drafting work related to construction, engineering, transport, energy and
information technology disputes along with associated professional negligence and insurance matters
(including policy coverage disputes). He is regularly cited as a leading practitioner by Chambers and
Partners in construction negligence.
