CAT helps to identify underlying impairments, provide direction for further
assessment, to determine the functional, psychological & social impact of aphasia &
to create a profile of strengths & weaknesses to guide therapy. The CAT also helps
therapists to track changes over the course of recovery & provides a guide to likely
outcomes on the basis of early assessment data.
