Successful candidates will work under the mentorship and guidance of Professor Edward C Morse. The initial appointment period is one year, with the possibility of extension for up to two years. Interested candidates should have completed a Ph.D. in engineering, mathematics, or physical science within the past three years. Candidates should have some expertise in one or more of the following areas: Materials Science, especially as it applies to the development of new materials for radiation detection, Operations Research, data mining, pattern recognition, imaging and risk assessment, Theoretical and Experimental Nuclear Physics, and Nuclear Instrumentation, Signal Processing, and Networked Devices. Preference will be shown to candidates aspiring to a career path in the area of nuclear detection for homeland security applications.
