RN-BSN NURSING COMPLETION PROGRAM
Admission Requirements
 ADN or Diploma in Nursing
 Acceptance to USC Aiken
 Application for Admission to BSN Program
 Minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA
 Two References
The following courses or their equivalent are required to be completed with a grade of C or better before entering the
School of Nursing. No more than 1 required science course (not including those required in licensure program) with a
grade below C.

Other degree requirements:
1. ICE Requirement: RN to BSN Completion students will be required to complete Four (4) ICE requirements during their
program of study.
2. Writing Proficiency Portfolio requirement: serves to certify each student’s writing proficiency within the context of
general education assessment, and to make all students aware of the necessity for developing and transferring their writing
skills beyond the composition sequence. Consists of 3 papers written by the student using set guidelines. Must be
submitted by the January deadline of your RN-BSN spring semester. May also take ENGL 201 Writing in the University
in place of Writing Portfolio.
3. Writing Intensive: Students will complete 1 WI course in the RN-BSN curriculum meeting the university graduation
requirement. WI courses are incorporated within the nursing curriculum. No additional course is necessary.
Nursing Courses:
All of the nursing classes are online with the exception of clinical requirements. The program only begins in August and
is 3 semesters.

Nursing Care of the Client with Complex Health Needs-4 credits (clinical in healthcare facility)

Ethical-Legal Issues in Nursing-3 credits
Community Health Nursing-5 credits (clinical-community project)
Leadership & Management-5 credits (clinical in healthcare facility)

You must be fully admitted to USCAiken, transcripts received and evaluated, and your nursing application submitted by
