Fellow Citizens,
I am writing to announce my candidacy for re-election in the 70th Representative District
of the Illinois General Assembly and to ask for your continued help and council.
Climbing out of our state’s fiscal hole, redirecting our priorities, growing jobs and the
economy, and rebuilding optimism in Illinois will take time and all our efforts.
You can help by circulating a petition for me to be listed on the primary election ballot.
The following pages contain circulating instructions and my petition. You can be of
great assistance in reaching my goal of 1,500 signatures of registered voters.
Like most Illinoisans, I am not satisfied with the direction our state is headed. The
legislature, dominated by Speaker Madigan, doesn’t understand and wants to continue the
failed policies of the past. Our state continues to overspent its available revenue, enact
policies that discouraged business expansion and job creation, and destroy the dreams of
our citizens—young and retired-- to the point too many move from the state. At a time
our young people need more education and workers need skill retooling to compete for
new jobs, the Speaker’s budget has cut funding for higher education and research for
innovations that will help keep us competitive.
As State Representative, I have been supporting legislation to control state spending and
redirect our priorities. I ask for the opportunity to continue that fight and with your help I
will continue to be your voice for honest, efficient government.

Instructions for Petition Circulators
Who can be a circulator? Anyone who is 18 years or older and a registered voter may circulate
for Bob. You do not need to live in the 70th Representative District.
Who can sign the petition? Any registered voter who intends to vote in the Republican Primary
Election on March 15, 2016 and who lives in the 70th District can sign a petition. Generally the
70th District includes the following townships/precincts:
Kane County
Big Rock
Burlington
Campton (north of Rt. 64)
Hampshire 1
Kaneville
Plato 2 and 3
Virgil
Boone County
Belvidere 13 & 15
Bonus
Spring
DeKalb County
Cortland
Franklin
Genoa
Kingston
Malta
Mayfield
Pierce
South Grove
Squaw Grove
Sycamore
DeKalb precincts (except 21, 22, 23,
24, 25 and portions of 18, 19 and 20)
Requesting signatures for the petition
 Have the person sign as they are registered to vote: full name and address
 A person must be registered to vote at the address they list
 A person must live in the 70th Representative District
 A person can only sign for one State Representative petition
 Never let a person sign for another person
 Never leave the petition unattended for passers-by to sign
 Do not use ditto marks for addresses or counties
 A person may change party affiliation from one primary election to the next
