Advising and making recommendations to Quality and Standards Committee (QSC) on matters related to the enhancement of assessment procedures, including feedback to students on assessment. The identification and dissemination of good practice and innovation in the assessment of student performance. The identification and dissemination of information on relevant regional and national initiatives related to the assessment of student performance. Responsible for: Tasks devolved to it by the University Learning, Teaching and Assessment Committee. Consulted on: Proposed developments in the University’s quality and standards framework relevant to the assessment of students on taught programmes and modules (primarily by QSC). Informed on: Issues, concerns and innovations in assessment practice identified in faculties and by other internal bodies including the Learning and Teaching Support Unit (primarily by LTSU) Developments in national or international arrangements for, or expectations of, quality assurance, enhancement and/or academic standards relevant to the assessment of students (primarily by University Quality Office). 1 Mode of Operation The Assessment Committee will support equality of opportunity and good relations between staff and students whatever their race, gender, disability, sexual orientation, religion and belief, age or socio-economic background. This support will include participating in university activities, such as equalities monitoring, impact assessment and other measures as appropriate, in line with the University’s legal obligations. The Committee must meet at least 5 times per academic year. The Committee should meet at least 7 days before University Learning, Teaching and Assessment Committee.
