Element Cubes As a class we will be making a partial 3D model of the first 36 elements on Periodic Table. Using suitable references from the library/internet/text books you will be creating an “Element Cube” on the attached template and then presenting your element cube to the class. Elements will be drawn at random. Be sure to include the following on your cube (1 of the following per side of the cube) Your element’s symbol, atomic number and atomic mass (written boldly in AZX form, where A = the atomic mass, Z= the atomic number, and X is the element’s symbol) Its most obvious chemical properties It’s most obvious physical properties The person who discovered it and why it’s symbol is what it is What is the element commonly used for? An interesting fact you found BE CREATIVE – Use COLOUR, add PICTURES, have fun! - Once you have gathered all of the information, transfer it to the cube template before cutting it out. - When all of the information is on the cube, cut it out and fold all of the dotted lines appropriately, follow the “cube building” instructions on the attached page.
