6. Two (2) photographs (3 cm x 4 cm)
7. Certificate of Enrollment of the Applicant for the JASSO Short-term Student Exchange
Promotion Program (Inbound) Scholarship (Form 3-3) (For JASSO applicants only)
8. Junior Year at Tsukuba Program (JTP) application form (For JTP applicants only)
9. A certificate confirming the bank account balance that the applicant intends to use to
support his/her study (Please include the name, address, occupation, and relationship to the
student.)
10. A document that certifies that the applicant is a recipient of a scholarship from his/her
own country (if applicable)
NOTE: After checking all the above items, your application package should be submitted to the
International Program Office or the Exchange Coordinator at your current university.

You do not have Japanese nationality.
Your nationality is that of a country that has established diplomatic relations with Japan.
You are certain to obtain a “College Student” visa allowing you to study in Japan.
You will not receive any other scholarships whose monthly stipend(s) exceed(s) 80,000 yen while
studying in Japan.
You have never received the ‘JASSO Short-term Student Exchange Promotion Program (Inbound)
Scholarship,’ or, if you have been a recipient of the scholarship in the past, three years have passed since
completion of that scholarship period.
You will not apply for Monbukagakusho Scholarship for 2010 along with the JASSO Scholarship.
You will be accepted by the University of Tsukuba under a student exchange agreement with your home
university.
You will resume your studies at your home university after completing your study period in Japan.
(3) What is your GPA? You must have a minimum GPA 2.30 or higher to be eligible for a JASSO applicant.
Your GPA must be calculated using the JASSO system. For calculating your GPA, please see page 6.

Calculating the JASSO GPA
Your GPA must be calculated using the JASSO system.
The JASSO calculation system uses your university’s grading system as its base, and your most recent grades must
be included in this calculation. As different universities may use different grading systems, JASSO has prepared
the following table of examples to demonstrate its calculation system for converting applicants’ GPAs to the
JASSO GPA standard. Your JASSO-calculated GPA is rounded to the nearest hundredth decimal point.
