Course Aims & Objectives: 3.1 Aims The course will help students grasp a basic understanding of the concepts of policing and the significance of crime prevention, especially two broad areas of prevention: community crime prevention and employee crime prevention, and as such, students will also learn two related approaches to explain crime and its causations: environmental criminology and white collar crimes. 3.2 Objectives The course will enable students to: understand the purposes and concepts of crime prevention; understand the concepts underlying environmental criminology and the theories associated with this school of thought; understand the theoretical concepts and various forms of while collar crimes; understand different models of policing and crime prevention strategies; and understand corruption prevention and control strategies in Hong Kong; 4.
