LOUIS COMMUNITY COLLEGE TRANSFER GUIDE FOR CENTRAL METHODIST UNIVERSITY BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN CHILD DEVELOPMENT FOR GRADUATES OF THE AAS IN EARLY CARE AND EDUCATION 314‐227‐4406 http://www.centralmethodist.edu/stlouis The Bachelor of Science with a major in Child Development (BSCD) is offered for students who are interested in a career working with children and families in a variety of settings outside public schools. Students will be able to tailor some of their coursework to meet specific career goals. An articulation agreement was created with St. Louis Community College to streamline the transfer process for students who complete the Associate in Applied Science (AAS) Degree in Early Care and Education. Below are the details for how coursework will be transferred and the coursework that will be taken at CMU. The BSCD degree completion program is an accelerated program designed for working adults. Courses meet for 8 weeks either on‐ground in the evening or online. Various educational sites are available across the St. Louis metro area. Students can discuss options for enrollment with their academic advisor. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR BSCD PROGRAM  A minimum of 60 transferrable semester hours completed at a college or university with regional accreditation as documented via official transcripts or graduation from an accredited community college or senior college with an associate’s degree  An overall college transfer GPA of 2.0 DEGREE REQUIREMENTS – 124 Total Credits Child Development Major 36 Credits General Education Requirements 49‐55 Credits (depends on ACT scores, if available) Minor/Alternative to the Minor 17 Credits Electives 16‐22 Credits Minimum Residency Requirement: BSCD students must complete at least 30 credits at Central Methodist University.
