CTHE SPRING FEASTS
And the Lord spoke to Moses saying, “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: the feasts of the
Lord, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, these are My feasts.” Leviticus 23:1-2
The Spring Feasts consist of four festivals: Passover, The Feast of Unleavened Bread, The Feast of Firstfruits and
Pentecost (The Feast of Weeks). These feasts are extremely important because they teach us to honor God for who
He is and for what He has done for us. In addition, they teach us about God’s plan for humankind and how He
powerfully intervenes in human affairs! Revelation 21:3 says “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will
dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.”
PASSOVER
Passover begins at sundown, March 25th and ends at sundown, March 26th. This feast celebrates the Israelites’
deliverance from Egypt through Moses and humanity’s deliverance from sin and death through Jesus Christ.
Passover is observed through the Passover Seder Meal.
The Passover Seder Meal is a family gathering established by God to celebrate the liberation of Israel from Egyptian
captivity and humanity’s redemption from sin and death. It is a celebration meal to be shared by family members
and friends. The Church Family Seder Meals will be held March 25-28, 2013 at The Power Center. If you are unable
to attend one of the meals, you can celebrate the Passover Seder in your home using the Home Seder Guide.
There will be limited quantities of grape juice and matzah available for purchase in The Pointe Bookstore, beginning
Sunday, March 17th.

THE FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD
Exodus 12:14-20 and Leviticus 23:5-8 explains the origin and purpose of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. The
Feast of Unleavened Bread begins the day after Passover and continues for seven days (sundown, March 26th –
sundown, April 2nd). The observance of the Feast of Unleavened Bread is a symbol of our commitment to turn
towards righteousness and turn away from sin. During this weeklong feast, nothing with leaven in it may be eaten.
Abstaining from leavened bread for seven days is symbolic of God’s people separating themselves from sin and
turning towards a holy relationship with the Lord. The Lord requires us to clean our homes of any food products that
contain leaven, yeast, baking powder, baking soda, or sodium bicarbonate. Foods with leaven include breads,
cereals, cakes, pies, crackers, and soups. Read the labels on all of your foods, especially in the pantry and freezer.
A list of foods containing leaven is listed on pages 6-9 or it can be obtained online at www.feastfacts.com.

THE FEAST OF FIRSTFRUITS
The word firstfruits means “a promise to come.” On the day of Firstfruits, Wednesday, March 27, 2013, the Church
Family will bring a special offering to the Lord. This offering will represent the firstfruits of any financial income since
the Feast of Tabernacles which was held in (October 2012). In Leviticus 23: 9-14, the first crops of the barley
harvest were offered to God as an offering of thanksgiving for the promise of an abundant harvest. This offering,
lifted up to the Lord, is called the early firstfruits. In I Corinthians 15:23, Jesus is considered the firstfruit of the
harvest of all who have died in him. This Feast was fulfilled when Jesus rose from the dead and ascended into
heaven. For Christians, this feast is important because it celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ!
Things You Need to Know


You determine the amount of this special offering, symbolizing your thanksgiving to God for
providing the “early” spring harvest. The “latter” spring harvest will occur during Pentecost.

The firstfruit offering is not your tithe. It is separate and in addition to your tithe.
COUNTING OF THE OMER
You shall count for yourselves -- from the day after the Sabbath, from the day when you bring the
Omer of the waving -- seven Sabbaths, they shall be complete. Until the day after the seventh Sabbath,
you shall count, fifty days... Leviticus 23:15-16.
God instructed the Israelites to count the days from Passover to the Feast of Pentecost in anticipation of
Pentecost (See Leviticus 23:16). This 50-day period is known as the Counting of the Omer. Counting the
Omer reminds us of the link between Passover and Pentecost, which celebrates the Giving of the Law in the
Old Testament and the Holy Spirit in the New Testament. An "Omer" is a unit of measure for grain in
ancient Israel. Counting the Omer began with the symbolic offering of an omer of barley ("First
Fruits") in the Jerusalem Temple and continued up until the day before a symbolic offering of wheat was
brought to the Temple on the day of Pentecost or Shavuot. The act of Counting the Omer is a part of Jewish
tradition. Encourage your children to “Count the Omer” in preparation for Pentecost. See page 10 for the
additional instructions.
THE FEAST OF PENTECOST
The Feast of Pentecost celebrates the giving of the Ten Commandments in the Old Testament and the Holy Spirit in
the New Testament. This feast is to be filled with joy and thanksgiving for God’s bountiful blessings of the harvest.
During the celebration of Pentecost, believers will bring the firstfruits of any financial income since the Passover.
This offering is called the latter firstfruit offering and symbolizes our thanksgiving to God for providing the “latter”
spring harvest. The Church Family will offer its latter firstfruits at the Pentecost Worship Celebration, Tuesday, May
14, 2013, 7:00 p.m.

Things You Need to Know

Pentecost begins sundown, May 14th and ends at sundown, May 15th.

The Pentecost Worship Celebration will be held Tuesday, May 14th, 7:00 p.m. at The KBC. The
Church Family will offer its latter firstfruits during this special service.
Prepare to offer your latter firstfruit offering on Tuesday, May 14th, at the Pentecost Worship
Celebration at 7:00 p.m. This is a special offering from any financial income since the Passover
Festivals. If you are unable to meet God’s appointed time, you may bring your offering to The KBC,
use the mobile app, Connection Center Kiosk, give online or by mail.

OF R
EST“God’s Holy Days”
As our Church Family prepares to celebrate the Spring Feasts, consider scheduling the following days off from work.
In Leviticus 23, God instructs the Israelites to “do no customary work” on specific days associated with the feasts
because He considers them Holy days. The general interpretation of “no customary work” is taking the day off from
your job or any activity that contributes to your income. Any work that is done in preparation of the feast is
acceptable. The Lord understands if you have to work, but if you can, take the day off to enjoy the Lord and your
family.
Remember all Holy days begin at sundown the evening before the calendar day listed.

GUIDELINES FOR CELEBRATING THE SPRING FEASTS
Preparing for the Passover
The Passover Seder Meal is a family gathering established by God to celebrate the liberation of Israel from
Egyptian captivity and humanity’s redemption from sin and death through Jesus Christ. It is a celebration meal
to be shared by family members and friends. The Church Family Passover Seder Meals will be held March
25th, 26th, 27th, and 28th at 7:00 p.m., at The Power Center. If you are unable to attend one of the meals, you
can celebrate the Passover Seder in your home using the Home Seder Guide. There will be limited quantities of
grape juice and matzah available for purchase in The Pointe Bookstore, beginning Sunday, March 17th.
Preparing for the Feast of the Unleavened Bread
The observance of the Feast of Unleavened Bread offers us an intentional time to “spring clean” our lives.
Explain to your friends and family that as we celebrate Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread, we ask
God for the power to choose a life not dominated by sin and live in the freedom found in obedience to His
Kingdom ways.
LET’S GET THE LEAVEN OUT! You may eat leavened products through the afternoon of Monday, March 25,
2013. However, please begin to remove them from your home (by eating or discarding them), now thru
Sunday, March 24th.
On Sunday evening, March 24th, conduct a final inspection of your home for any leavened products.
Traditionally, the head of the household does this final inspection. By sundown on the evening of March 25th,
all leavened products should absolutely be out of your home and not eaten for the next seven (7) days. You
may begin to purchase and consume them again after sundown on April 2nd.
I.
What is Leaven?
Leaven is yeast or any “fermenting” substance used to make dough or other foods rise or sour. Some
yeast derivatives are added to foods for flavor or nutritional purposes. The rules of leavening also
apply to foods prepared from five types of grain: barley, wheat, rye, oats and spelt.
Removing food products that contain leaven (yeast, baking soda, baking powder, sodium
bicarbonate, autolyzed yeast, & yeast extract) has its roots in ancient Passover preparation. Thirty
days before the Passover and Feast of Unleavened Bread, the women of every household began
removing all leaven (known as “chametz” in Hebrew) from their homes. Removing leaven is a spiritual
as well as a physical cleansing. Jesus spoke of leaven as a symbol of sin in the gospels (i.e., Luke
12:1), and the apostle Paul did likewise in I Corinthians 5:6-8.
II.
Instructions for Removing Leavened Food Products
Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread. On the first day you shall remove leaven from your
houses. For whoever eats leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that person shall be
cut off from Israel. On the first day there shall be a holy convocation, and on the seventh day there shall
be a holy convocation for you. No manner of work shall be done on them; but that which everyone must
eat--that only may be prepared by you. So you shall observe the Feast of Unleavened Bread, for on this
same day I will have brought your armies out of the land of Egypt. Therefore you shall observe this day
throughout your generations as an everlasting ordinance. In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the
month at evening, you shall eat unleavened bread until the twenty-first day of the month at evening. For
seven days no leaven shall be found in your houses, since whoever eats what is leavened, that same
person shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he is a stranger or a native of the land.
6
You shall eat nothing leavened; in all your dwellings you shall eat unleavened bread. Exodus 12: 15-19
(NKJV)
The Lord requires us to clean our homes of any food products that contain any kind of leaven: yeast,
baking powder, baking soda, sodium bicarbonate, autolyzed yeast, or yeast extract. Also,
traditionally most foods that contain wheat, barley, rye, oats, or spelt, except for matzah, are
refrained from during Passover, as they are often processed in mills where leaven is present. Foods
with leaven include most breads, cereals, cakes, pies, crackers, and soups. Read the labels on all of
your foods, especially in the pantry and freezer. You may be surprised about the foods that contain
leaven. It is easy to identify packaged foods that are usable during the Feast of Unleavened Bread by
looking for product packages bearing one of these symbols:
or “OU Kosher for Passover.
Here is a suggested leavening removal guide. Try to eat these foods during this removal time
period:
March 4th – 10th: All frozen foods containing leaven or the 5 forbidden grains.
March 11th – 17th:
forbidden grains.
All canned goods and cereal products containing leaven or the 5
March 18th – 24th: All crackers, pastry products, seasonings, sauces, and condiments
containing leaven or the 5 forbidden grains.
Sundown, March 24th: All leavened products should be out of the home.
The general idea is to symbolize a purified life in Jesus by “eating clean” for the 7 days of the Feast of
Unleavened Bread. This diet is also a healthier way to eat.
III.
Here are some examples of foods to keep in your home:
All fresh fruits, vegetables, 100% fruit juices, milk, eggs, unflavored nuts, peas, beans, rice, quinoa,
matzah, good quality meats, and packaged foods with the
or “OU Kosher for Passover” symbols.
Most major grocery stores in the Houston area now have a Kosher food section.
Example of Kosher for Passover product labels:
Warning: While many items marked Parve or Pareve (meaning “neutral”) may be
kosher for Passover, not all items are. Please read package label and ingredients
carefully.
7
IV.
Here are some examples of items you should remove from your home.
Accent ® Seasoning
Alcoholic beverages
Baker’s yeast
Bakery products
(i.e. bagels, donuts, cookies, cakes)
Bread of all kinds
Breaded fish/chicken/meat
Brewer’s yeast
Most catsup. Read the label!
Cheeses & Processed Cheese Spread
All Crackers (Saltine, Wheat Thins, etc)

Some sausage contains grain fillers and/or
yeast derivatives.
Soy sauce
Stuffing mix
All cereal products (that contain oats, wheat,
barley, rye, or spelt.)
Some smoked and cured meats. Please
read the label. Some curing and artificial
smoking processes use yeast extract!
Again, if in doubt, ask the following questions:
1. Does this food or drink contain any leavening agents? Yeast or yeast derivatives? Baking
soda or baking powder? Was yeast (or any other leavening agent) involved in the process of
making this food? NOTE: ALL fermented foods/drinks are NOT allowable during Passover,
except that which is specifically labeled as kosher for Passover.
2. Does this food or drink contain any wheat (except matzah or matzah products), barley, rye,
oats, or spelt?
If the answer to either of these questions is "yes," then that food is NOT allowable during the
Feast of Unleavened Bread.

Preparing for the Feast of Firstfruits and Counting of the Omer
I.
Feast of Firstfruits
On the day of Firstfruits, believers will bring the firstfruits of any financial increase received since the
Feast of Tabernacles (October 2012). The firstfruit offering, called the early firstfruit, is not your tithe or
regular offering. It is separate and in addition to your tithe. You determine the amount of this special
offering, symbolizing your thanksgiving to God for providing the “early” spring harvest. You may bring
your offering to The KBC, use the mobile app, Connection Center Kiosk, give online or by mail.
II.
Counting the Omer
The daily “counting of the omer” will begin the evening of March 26th.
Use the calendar on page 14 to mark off each day by drawing an “X” or using a sticker.
After marking off the day, pray the following blessing with your children until the 50th day,
“Blessed are You, Lord our God, who created all things. We joyfully anticipate the
celebration of Your Holy Spirit who leads and guides our lives with love and power.”
Remember to count the omer beginning at sundown, March 26th.
Preparing for Pentecost (Feast of Weeks)
I.
Pentecost
During the celebration of Pentecost, believers will bring the firstfruits of any income received since the
Passover festivals. This offering is called the latter firstfruit offering. It is separate and in addition to
your tithe. You determine the amount of this special offering, symbolizing your thanksgiving to God for
providing the “latter” spring harvest.
On Tuesday, May 14th, at 7:00 p.m., we will present our latter firstfruit offering to the Lord at a special
Pentecost Worship Celebration in The KBC. This is a special offering from any financial income since
the Passover Festivals. If you are unable to meet God’s appointed time, you may bring your offering to
The KBC, use the mobile app, Connection Center Kiosk, give online or by mail.
II.
Pentecost Celebration Activities
It is tradition to eat dairy products during Pentecost because the law was compared to milk and
honey. When the Israelites were awaiting the arrival of their new commandments and were
unsure as to what their new dietary laws would be, they ate only dairy products and
vegetables. Eating cheesecake and blintzes is a particular favorite during this feast.
Decorate your home with flowers and greenery, which represent the latter spring harvest and
the Law as a “tree of life.”
Read the “Book of Acts” with your family.
Study Scriptures about the Holy Spirit. A few Scriptures are provided below.
I baptize you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit!" Mark 1:8 NLT
The angel replied, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will
overshadow you. So the baby born to you will be holy, and He will be called the Son of God.”
Luke 1:35 NLT
And the Holy Spirit descended on Him in the form of a dove. And a voice from heaven said,
"You are my beloved Son, and I am fully pleased with You." Luke 3:22 NLT
10
"And now I will send the Holy Spirit, just as my Father promised. But stay here in the city until
the Holy Spirit comes and fills you with power from heaven." Luke 24:49 NLT
Then He breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit.” John 20:22 NLT
John baptized with water, but in just a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit." Acts
1:5
A special Pentecost Worship Celebration will be held on Tuesday, May 14th, at The Kingdom
Builders’ Center at 7:00 p.m. To God be the glory for the great and awesome things He has
done. Thank God for our Helper, the Holy Spirit.
God has extended a special invitation to all of His children. We look forward to
seeing you at His parties. Expect with eager anticipation to experience more of God’s
love, anointing, power, provision, authority and presence throughout the Spring Feast
season.

FASTING INSTRUCTIONS FOR ADULTS
I.
What is a Fast?
The Hebrew word for fasting means “to cover the mouth.” The Greek word for fasting means
“not to eat.” Simply put, fasting means to abstain from food. Fasting involves turning away
from foods that the body craves in order for our spirit to concentrate on God in worship,
service, and praise.
Fasting has been a part of Christianity through the ages. It is a form of spiritual and scriptural
sacrifice. Fasting does not change or impress God. Fasting changes us. Through fasting,
Christians are empowered to discipline their daily relationship with the Lord.
The fast will consist of abstaining from food. In other words, you are fasting if you are not
eating food. The primary method of fasting will be one (1) meal each day.
II.
Why Should We Fast?
John Wesley, the original organizer of the Methodist Movement, fasted. In fact, he fasted twice
a week. More importantly, Jesus Christ fasted! We fast as a Church Family because God’s
blessings reside in our unity. This special time encourages us to be “like-minded, having the
same love and being of one accord and of one mind” (Philippians 2:1-3).
III.
Who Should Fast?
Prayerfully, each member will participate in the Church Family Spiritual Fast. Please consult
your physician about your fasting if: (1) you are pregnant; (2) you are on prescribed
medication; (3) you are under a doctor’s care; (4) you have experienced illness on a previous
fast; (5) or, you do not normally eat anyway.
YOUR PHYSICIAN’S ORDERS TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER THIS FAST! FOLLOW YOUR
PHYSICIAN’S ORDERS!!!
IV.
Why Fast?
The benefits include:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.
8.
9.
Having a closer relationship with God, our Father, who created us;
Focusing you on Jesus, the Supply, and Supplier of your benefits and blessings;
Becoming more sensitive and responsive to the Holy Spirit;
Presenting the opportunity for you to spend more time waiting on the Lord;
Intensifying your prayer life;
Aiding in removing unbelief;
Breaking yokes of bondage;
Sharpening your intellect, skill, discernment, and understanding;
Aiding in clarity of spiritual hearing when guidance or a decision is needed from the Holy
Spirit;
10. Hastening emotional, spiritual, financial, and physical healing for both individuals and the
community;
11. Fostering personal discipline that will help to reduce impulsive fleshly urges that do not
15
align with Scripture; and,
12. Demonstrating (to yourself) an act of scriptural obedience.
V.
How to Fast
The primary method of fasting for the Church Family Spiritual Fast will be one (1) meal
each day eaten after 6:00 p.m. Meals should be completed within 75 minutes from the
moment you put food into your mouth.
Fasting Options include:
1.
“Veterans” - Veterans are those members who have participated in the Church Family
Spiritual Fast two or more times.
2.
“First Round Draft Choices” - (First Rounders are those persons who have never
fasted or have only participated in a Church Spiritual Fast one time.) First
Rounders will eat two (2) meals per day, one at breakfast before 8:00 a.m. and one after
6:00 p.m. Be consistent; eat the breakfast meal at a routine hour. Complete your meals
within 75 minutes from the moment you put food into your mouth. Please pray the daily
prayer petition during the time of the skipped meal (lunch meal) and during your regular
prayer time for the day.
3.
“Special Teams” consist of persons who are under a doctor’s care, pregnant, or unable
to miss a meal for health reasons. Special Teams should eat regularly scheduled
meals. Participation in the Church Family Spiritual Fast will consist of abstaining from
foods such as sweets, carbonated beverages, breads, meats, or any food that you feel
“you must have at least a little of every day.”
It is important for the Church Family to be of one mind and heart. Please fast in
accordance with the above-listed instructions. Fasts such as a “cleansing fast,”
“grapefruit fast,” and others are not appropriate during this special time.
VI.
Requirements for Fasting
1.
No nibbling! If you feel hungry (that’s expected and normal), drink water and pray.
2.
No sweets (including sweeteners), chips, candy, chewing gum, soft drinks, or any
other junk food should be eaten at any time during the fast by Veterans, First
Rounders, or Special Teams.
3.
If you experience headaches, fatigue or weakness, faint feelings, nausea, fever,
and/or extreme hunger, eat a piece of fruit, slice of bread, crackers, or vegetables
(preferably raw). Consult your physician if these feelings persist.
4.
Water only! Please restrict your liquid intake to water. No sodas, juices, fruit juices,
lemon water, or flavored water. If you are fasting no food, please drink at least 64oz –
80oz of water each day. Raw vegetable juices are permitted if you are fasting no food.
5.
If you experience “blackouts” while exerting energy, please eat a light, nutritionallybalanced meal.
6.
If you are eating once a day, it is recommended that you do not exercise during the fast.
7.
As I Corinthians 7:5 tells us, no love-making for married folk! (Single Christians are
already abstaining.) Both spouses should agree to the fast as a sacrifice of consecration
16
to the Lord. If one of the spouses is not in agreement with I Corinthians 7:5, then do not
abstain. There must be agreement between marital partners.
VII.
8.
Individual prayer times for each day are 6:00 a.m. and after 7:00 p.m. If your schedule
does not allow for these hours, please adjust your schedule to include a morning prayer
time and an evening prayer time.
9.
If you “fall off” the fast, get back on. Do not allow the devil to condemn you. Ask your
covenant partner (see Covenant Partnering on page 20) for help.
What Are We Praying About During the Fast?
You will receive a Church Family Power Guide that lists the prayer topics. The guide contains
the prayers that we will pray during the fast. Please pray each prayer on the appropriate day
as designated by the Prayer Topic Calendar.
VIII.
How Can We Be a Blessing While Fasting?
In Isaiah 58:6-2, the Lord explains that an acceptable fast to Him includes feeding and clothing
those in need. In addition to praying, you can bless others by using some of the money you
would spend on eating out or buying groceries to provide food and clothing for others. See
details on the Promise of Giving on page 21.

How to Receive Your Fast Manual
The Church Family Power Guide will be distributed during the weekend Worship Celebrations.

You Can Fast in Jesus’ Name!
While fasting, keep your countenance positive. Matthew 6:16-18 tells us not to “advertise our
fasting.” Keep your fasting a secret. Be sensible and do your best. God does not smile upon
“super fasters.” Expect God to be AWESOME and to do AWESOME things through you and
the Church Family.
God bless you!

Fasting Instructions for Children and Youth
God gives us pastors according to His heart who will feed us with knowledge and understanding
(Jeremiah 3:15). We must obey our pastors for they watch over our souls (Hebrews 13:17).
Parents should teach and guide by their example the importance of following the leadership of our
pastors. When Pastor Caldwell proclaims the fast, children and youth are capable of obeying and
participating.
Parents, please prayerfully consider including your children and youth in the Church Family Spiritual
Fast. It will be a blessed experience for them and it will begin to lay a foundation for their future.
Your support and encouragement are recommended to maximize your child’s success.
I.
What is a Fast?
The Hebrew word for fasting means “to cover the mouth.” Fasting has been a part of
Christianity through the ages. It is a form of spiritual and scriptural sacrifice. Fasting does not
change or impress God. Fasting changes us. Through fasting, Christians are empowered to
discipline their daily relationship with the Lord.
II.
Why Should Children and Youth Fast?
To have a closer relationship with God our Father and Jesus Christ;
To become more sensitive and responsive to the Holy Spirit;
To present the opportunity for you to spend more time waiting on the Lord; and,
To build your prayer life.
As children and youth fast, they, too, will receive the benefits and blessings of obedience and
fasting.
III.
How to Fast
Eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Eat healthy vegetables, fruits, meats, breads, milk, and cereal.
Eat a healthy snack between meals such as fruit, vegetables, etc.
Drink WATER, 100% JUICE, and MILK as the only beverages.
NO SWEETS, PIZZA, FRENCH FRIES, CHIPS, CANDY, CHEWING GUM, SOFT DRINKS,
OR ANY OTHER JUNK FOODS!
V.
What Are We Praying About During the Fast?
Please help your child (ren) pray each prayer on the appropriate day as designated by the
Prayer Topic Calendar.

H COVENANT PARTNERING
Ecclesiastes 4:12 states, “Though one may be empowered by another,
two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not easily broken.”
It is highly recommended that you choose a Covenant Partner. This person
will pray with you, encourage you, and remind you of God’s faithfulness.
Choose someone who will walk with you throughout the duration of the fast.
Remember, your most important Covenant Partners are God our Father,
Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. As One, trust them to help and strengthen
you and your Covenant Partner(s) during the Church Family Fast.
Guidelines for Covenant Partnering
· Guidelines for choosing Covenant Partners are as follows:
Married couples partner with married couples;
Single women partner with single women; and
Single men partner with single men.
· Be sure to exchange telephone numbers or e-mail addresses.
· During the fast, please communicate, pray, encourage and hold each
other accountable.

THE PROMISE OF GIVING
The Promise of Giving is designed to encourage giving while fasting. In Isaiah 58:6-12, the Lord
explains that an acceptable fast to Him includes feeding and clothing those who are in need, restoring
broken relationships with family, and sharing with strangers. During this fast, you are encouraged to
use some of the money that you would spend on groceries and eating out by providing for others.
The Promise of Giving item will be given to Jean Hines Caldwell Elementary School and Victory
Preparatory Academy.
GUIDELINES FOR GIVING
The “Promise of Giving” items are listed below. The list has the items you are encouraged to donate
during the week of the fast. Pick up a “Promise of Giving” bag following each Worship Celebration.
Donate as many items as you choose during the week.
Please only donate: NEW items.

HOW TO USE THE POWER GUIDE
Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears
us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the topics that we have
asked of Him.
I John 5:14-15
The Power Guide is designed as a tool for study, reflection and prayer. Each prayer is written based
on the model of the Lord’s Prayer (see Matthew 6:9-13).
In order to maximize the use of your guide, please follow the listed instructions.
1.
Set aside a few minutes each day to pray individually, with your family or prayer partner(s).
Gradually build your prayer time with the Lord to at least thirty (30) to sixty (60) minutes
each day. You can split up your prayer time, if necessary, and pray a few minutes in the
morning and evening. You choose the time of day that is good for you. Find a comfortable
place to pray and turn off any distractions. If you have small children who need most of
your attention, pray the daily prayer with them. Let God’s Word saturate their hearing.
2.
Refer to the Prayer Topics Calendar on page 23 for the specific prayer for the day. Only pray
for the prayer topic that is assigned to that day so that we are unified in our daily praying.
Please do not get ahead of the prayer for the day. Before praying the “Scriptural Prayer,”
first read the Scriptures listed for “Scripture Reading.”
3.
Pray the assigned prayer out loud. There is power in your verbal expression. Parents
please encourage your children to pray their prayer topics in the Children’s Power Guide out
loud. Youth (ages 13-17) may use the Adult Power Guide.
4.
These prayers are intended to be a springboard to help you with your prayerful
conversations. Trust the Holy Spirit to help you to expand upon the prayer that you are
praying for the day. If you speak in tongues, please pray in tongues over each prayer topic.
Relax, listen and enjoy the Lord.
5.
Record any reflections, revelations, or inspiration given by the Holy Spirit in the Prayer
Expectation section at the end of the Power Guide.
6.
Believe that the Lord is hearing your prayer and know in your heart that your praying will
produce God’s results for the prayer topic you are praying for.
7.
After praying, make your daily power confession by using the Daily Power Confessions
located on page 68 in the back of your Power Guide. When you speak God’s Word over your
life, you activate the power of His Word to work in your life and produce God’s results for
your life. Expect God’s Word to transform your life. I also recommend that you speak the
Power Confessions over your family.
8.
All members are asked to attend Victory Wednesday on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. at The
KBC. Please refer to the Prayer Topic Calendar for your assigned Wednesday to attend
Victory Wednesday. Assignments are listed based on the first letter of your last name.
9.
Enjoy your time spent with the Lord and thank you for helping to implement God’s plans for
our Church Family.
God Bless You!
Pastor Kirbyjon Caldwell

Prayer Topic #1:
A Prayer of Preparation for the Spring Feasts
Scripture Reading:
Psalm 63, Deuteronomy 16:1-12
Reflections of the Heart:
Remember that we are blessed that God has added followers of His Son, Jesus Christ, to His family, to be
joined with the children of Abraham, giving us the right to meet with God at His appointed times, just as our
Lord and Savior did while He walked the earth.
Scriptural Prayer:
Amazing Father, we thank You for the Passover, the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the Feast of Firstfruits and
Pentecost. Thank You for celebrating with us during these special appointed times. Thank You for drawing us
into a more intimate relationship with You through these feasts. They have been a blessing to our Church
Family. We, Your Godly children, sing songs of joy to You. We will sing a new song of praise to You and play
skillfully on the harp. Your Word, Lord, holds true and we can trust everything that You do. You love whatever
is just and good; Your unfailing love fills the earth. We put our hope in You, Lord. You are our help and our
shield. In You do our hearts rejoice, for we trust in Your holy Name. Let Your unfailing love surround us, Lord,
for our hope is in You alone.
Holy Father, You rescued Your chosen people, the Israelites, from slavery in Egypt and declared them to be
Your own people. You have not changed. Abba Father, You continue to rescue humanity from the bondage of
sin and death through the resurrection and ascension of Your Son, Jesus Christ. As we come together during
the Spring Feasts Season, we will prepare ourselves to meet with You to celebrate the Passover, the Festival
of Unleavened Bread, the Feast of Firstfruits and Pentecost. We will examine ourselves and confess our sins
to You. We will turn away from sin and recommit our lives to You. We will carefully examine our homes to be
certain that there is nothing that would interfere with our relationship with You. We will examine the T.V. shows
we watch, the music we listen to, the games our children play, the books and magazines we read and the
conversations we discuss.
These are the things I need to do in preparation for the Spring Feasts:
________________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________________
As we search the Scriptures, Holy Spirit, lead us to the portions of God’s Word which will instruct us in
preparing for the Spring Feasts. Bring to our remembrance areas in our lives that need to be transformed in
order to be cleansed of sin or idolatry. Point out things in our homes that need to be removed or changed.
Help us to develop a greater appreciation for the blessings the Father has given us. Help us to always count
our blessings every day and to be thankful. Help us to share this wonderful time with our friends and family
members and use it as a tool to witness Your love and salvation to the lost.
Redeeming Father, forgive us corporately and individually for our sins. Forgive us for holding on to our old
ways and for being reluctant to participate in Your Feasts which are still new to us. Forgive those who choose
not to celebrate Your festivals or those who are unwilling to bring offerings to You. Forgive us for being timid
and afraid to share the information about Your festivals with our friends, family members and co-workers.
Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to
forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to
forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to show you names or faces of people that you may
need to forgive. As He shows you, say aloud, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to
heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)
24
Heavenly Father, help us all to not yield to temptation; but deliver us from the evil one.
Almighty King, You created the heavens and stretched them out. You created the earth and everything in it.
You give breath to everyone, life to everyone who walks the earth. You alone are the Lord! You will not give
Your glory to anyone else, nor will You share Your praise with carved idols. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #2:
A Prayer for Students Taking the TAKS and STAAR Tests
Scripture Reading:
Psalm 111, Exodus 31:1-5
Reflections of the Heart:
Our children and youth are rewards from the Lord. As they prepare and study, they are well suited to be
successful at any task. They are destined by God to achieve and exceed all academic expectations. They are
more than conquerors!
Scriptural Prayer:
Majestic Father, we thank You for our children and youth who are preparing for the TAKS and STAAR tests.
Thank You for crowning our students with wisdom and honor. Thank You for the teachers and instructors who
have a genuine interest in seeing our children and youth succeed. O God, You are our God; we earnestly
search for You. Our souls thirst for You; our bodies long for You in this parched and weary land where there is
no water. We have seen You in Your sanctuary and gazed upon Your power and glory. Your unfailing love is
better than life itself; how we praise You! We will praise You as long as we live. We will lift up our hands to
You in prayer. You satisfy us more than the richest feast. With songs of joy will we praise You.
Royal Father, we confess that our students are well versed in every area of learning; gifted with knowledge and
good judgment. Just as You anointed Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego with an unusual aptitude for
learning, especially literature and wisdom, we are expecting You to anoint our students to excel in their
academics and the TAKS and STAAR tests. We decree that our students understand the value of learning.
Father, Your Word says that wisdom is more profitable than silver and her wages are better than gold. We
confess that our students are growing in God’s wisdom. We confess that our students will not be anxious, but
they will pray and trust You to help them with their exams, papers, and projects. Our children will be thankful
for Your blessings and they will experience Your peace which exceeds anything they can understand. Our
students can do everything through Christ, including excelling on the TAKS and STAAR tests, because You
give them strength. We expect that as they study and apply themselves to their academics, that Holy Spirit,
You will bring all things to their remembrance. We decree that our students are the head academically and not
the tail; they will always be on top and will never be at the bottom.
As the students prepare to take the TAKS and STAAR tests this month, I commit to praying for the
following students:
________________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________________
_______________________________________________________________________________________
Holy Spirit, place a hunger within our students to learn and excel. Please help those students who are
struggling academically, emotionally, and socially. Help them to shed every false label, expectation and
preconceived notion that society has placed upon them. Help them to see themselves as more than
conquerors in every aspect of their lives. Holy Spirit, trouble the hearts of all parents to actively participate in
their child’s education. Show them how to partner with their student’s school and teachers to encourage and
help their child to learn. Please give our teachers creative ways to present the material in ways that the
students will be able to comprehend the lesson.
Loving Father, forgive those parents who are negligent in teaching their children to first revere You, which is
the beginning of wisdom. Forgive us, as parents, for not properly monitoring the usage of excessive television,
video games, music and other distractions. Forgive us for devaluing the worth of teachers and education.
Forgive us for not being more insistent on quality education in our school systems. Father, forgive me for (list
any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind our students of those they need to forgive and help
them to be quick to forgive. As for me, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and
26
ask the Holy Spirit to show you names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He shows
you, say aloud, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul
caused by unforgiveness.)
Glorious Father, help our students to not yield to temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.
Awesome Lord, Your right hand is glorious in power. Your right hand smashes the enemy. In the greatness of
Your majesty, You overthrow those who rise against You. You unleash Your blazing fury; it consumes them
like straw. Who is like You among the gods, glorious in holiness, awesome in splendor, performing great
wonders? You are God alone! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #3:
A Prayer for Salvation
Scripture Reading:
Psalm 105:1-8, Romans 6:4-11
Reflections of the Heart:
God always desired a relationship with humankind. He still does. His heart longs to father the lost and rejected
in this world. So while there is still time, those who are unsaved can still make a decision to confess Jesus
Christ as Lord and forever be free from the grip of sin and guilt. Keep trusting God to save the lost in this world
and stay alert for opportunities to share your personal story of redemption with those who are looking for hope
today!
Scriptural Prayer:
Glorious Father, we thank You for Your unconditional love. Thank You for showing us just how great Your love
is by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. Thank You for adopting us as Your children. Lord
God, we thank You for the precious gift of eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. Your majestic Name fills
the earth! Your glory is higher than the heavens! We will praise Your Name forever and ever, for You have all
wisdom and power. We put our hope in You, Lord. You are our help and our shield. Our hearts rejoice in You,
for we trust in Your holy Name. Father, You have performed many wonders for us. Your plans for us are too
numerous to list. You have no equal! If we tried to recite all Your wonderful deeds we would never come to the
end of them.
Triumphant Father, we declare in the Name of Jesus that the teaching of Your Word gives light so that anyone
can understand it. We commit to sharing the Gospel with our unsaved family members, friends, co-workers
and enemies. We will fulfill The Great Commission by going into all the world and preaching the Good News to
everyone, without prejudice. We confess that as Your Word is preached throughout the world it will convict the
hearts of the unsaved. As the Body of Christ, we are not ashamed to tell the Good News about Jesus Christ,
for we know that it is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes. We declare that as people
confess with their mouths, the Lord Jesus, and believe in their hearts that You raised Him from the dead, they
will be saved. When they receive Christ as their Lord and Savior, they will see themselves as Your
masterpiece, created anew in Christ Jesus so that they can do the good things You predestined for them to do.
They will learn to love You with all their heart and soul so that they may truly live. Lord, we decree that those
who are set free by the Son of God will know that they are truly free indeed!
List the people that you know who have not accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Ask the
Holy Spirit for the wisdom to witness to these people. Trust Him to give you the courage to approach
them and the words to say to them.

_______________________________________________________________________________________
Merciful Father, we cry out to You to clear the way so that Your Gospel may be preached in every city, state,
nation, and continent. There is much to be done to gather a great harvest of souls in our generation. Please
send laborers to proclaim the Good News to the unsaved in every nation and every tongue. Strengthen
missionaries around the world to proclaim Christ and do good works. We ask You, Holy Spirit, to remove the
scales from the eyes of those who are blind and cannot see The Father’s goodness and faithfulness toward
them. Lord God, we ask You to circumcise the hearts of those who are backslidden. Lead them back to the
path of righteousness. Remind them of the huge crowd of witnesses that surround them and strengthen them
to strip off every weight that slows them down, especially the sin that so easily trips them up. Please give them
28
the endurance to continue the race You have set before them. We ask that You help them to keep their eyes
focused on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects their faith.
Precious Father, forgive the unsaved for not acknowledging You or Your Son. Forgive them for rejecting Your
love and forgiveness. Forgive them for living in ruthless rebellion and ignorance of the Truth. Please have
mercy on their souls and extend Your grace toward them. Forgive us, the Body of Christ, for shrinking back
and neglecting to share the Good News with more people. Forgive us for being constrained by fear instead of
being motivated by faith. Forgive us for gossiping, backbiting, and slandering our backslidden brothers and
sisters when we should have been helping them come back to Jesus. Lord, forgive me for (list the sins that
you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive.
As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy
Spirit to show you names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He shows you, say out
loud, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by
unforgiveness.)
Immortal Father, help us all not to yield to temptation; but deliver us all from the evil one.
No one is holy like the Lord! There is no one besides You. There is no Rock like You, our God. Be exalted, O
God, above the highest heavens. You are awesome in Your sanctuary. You are the God of Israel, who gives
power and strength to His people. Praise be to You, O God! May Your glory shine over all the earth. Holy,
holy, holy are You, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies! The whole earth is filled with Your glory! In Jesus’ Name,
Amen.

Prayer Topic #4:
A Prayer for Our Pastors and Their Families
Scripture Reading:
Psalm 47, Psalm 128
Reflections of the Heart:
Our Pastors carry an incredible weight that many of us will never truly understand. They need our prayers, our
commitment, and our support. So don’t forget to pray for our Pastors and their families during your prayer
time.
Scriptural Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the men and women You have appointed as our Pastors. Thank You for
blessing our Church Family with their leadership and wisdom. Thank You for leading, directing, and protecting
their families. Thank You for Pastors Kirbyjon and Suzette Caldwell, Pastor Velosia Kibe, Pastor Kim Orr and
Pastor Irv White and their families. Thank You for Minister Ray Bady, Reverend Lisa Berry-Dockery, Reverend
James Andrews, Reverend Louis Carter, Dr. Earl and Mrs. Jeanette Allen and their families. Lord, You are our
Good Shepherd, our High Priest. You are a great God and a great King above all gods. You hold in Your
hands the depths of the earth and the mightiest mountains. The sea belongs to You, for You made it. Your
hands formed the dry land, too. Today, we bow down and worship You. We kneel before You and
acknowledge You as our maker. You are our God and we are the people that You watch over and have taken
under Your care.
Almighty Father, Your Word says that those who fear You and delight in obeying Your commands will be joyful.
You promised that their children will be successful everywhere. We declare that the descendants of our
Pastors are mighty on earth and blessed because they are the generation of Godly people. We confess that
our Pastors will be wealthy and their good deeds will last forever. We decree that their peace is great and their
composure is undisturbed. We declare that our Pastors’ families will experience the Kingdom of God here on
earth; people will see their good works and glorify You, our Father in Heaven. Our Pastors obey Your
commands, therefore, their families will be blessed in the city and in the fields. They will be blessed when they
come in and when they go out. Lord, we expect that You will cause their enemies who rise against them one
way to be defeated and flee seven ways. Lord, it is our expectation that You will command Your blessing upon
their storehouses and in all that they set their hands to do and You will bless them in the land. We confess that
our Pastors and their families are the head and not the tail; they are above only and not beneath. We declare
that You, Father, will perfect, establish, strengthen and settle our Pastors and their families.
Holy Spirit, show me how to pray specifically for my Pastors and their families:

Faithful Father, we joyfully lift up the families of our Pastors. Holy Spirit, we ask You to fill their homes with
Your gentleness, peace, joy, and Godly order. We lift up their marriages and we ask You to bless them
psychologically, emotionally and sexually. Bless their children to mature academically, socially, emotionally
and spiritually. Lord, strengthen and encourage those families who feel overwhelmed by the ministry. Lord, we
ask that You protect our Pastors and their families from the onslaughts of the devil and the disrespect of
people. Please help them to maintain balance in their public and private lives.
Merciful Father, forgive us for not being steadfast in praying for our Pastors and their families. Forgive those in
our Church Family for speaking ill against our Pastors and rebelling against their teachings. Forgive those who
gossip, murmur, complain, and whine. Please forgive our Pastors and their families for any acts of sinfulness
including: anger, wrath, envy, jealousy, or dissension. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have

committed). Holy Spirit, remind our Pastors and their families to forgive each other and other people, and
please help them to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a
moment and ask the Holy Spirit to show you names or faces of people that you may need to forgive.
As He shows you, say aloud, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in
your soul caused by unforgiveness.)
Wonderful Father, help our Pastors and their families to not yield to temptation; but deliver them from the evil
one.
O Lord, the God of our ancestor Israel, may You be praised forever and ever! Yours, O Lord, is the greatness,
the power, the glory, the victory and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is Yours. This is
Your Kingdom. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A Spring Break Prayer for the Families of Windsor Village United Methodist Church
Scripture Reading:
Psalm 96:1-6, Ecclesiastes 5:16-20
Reflections of the Heart:
Spring Break is an opportunity for our children and youth to spend a week relaxing, laughing, playing and
spending time with their friends and family. Let’s pray that our children and youth have a safe, fun-filled Spring
Break.
Scriptural Prayer:
Faithful Father, we thank You for time to take a break. Thank You for blessing our children in school and
helping them with their midterm tests and projects. Thank You for being a loving Father to all of us. We bless
Your Holy Name. We come before Your presence with thanksgiving and we shout joyfully to You, the Rock of
our salvation. Lord, You are the great God, and the great King above all gods. In Your hand are the deep
places of the earth; the mightiest mountains are Yours. The sea is Yours, for You made it, and Your hands
formed the dry land. Lord, You are our God and we are the people You watch over, the flock under Your care.
Mighty Father, You make everything beautiful in its own time. Your Word declares that there is nothing better
than to be happy and enjoy ourselves as long as we can. We confess that our children and youth of Windsor
Village will be happy and enjoy themselves during their spring break. We declare that as they live in Your
shelter, Most High, and find rest in the shadow of the Almighty, no harm will come near them. Peace, be still in
every home during this week. Lord, we declare that as our families spend time together during this week, the
hearts of the parents will be turned back to their children, and the hearts of the children back to their parents.
By faith, we declare that our children and youth will obey their parents and mothers and fathers will not provoke
their children to anger by the way they treat them. The joy of the Lord will be their strength.
List your specific requests for the families of WVUMC during spring break and take those concerns to
the Lord in prayer:

families closer together.
Redeeming Father, please forgive our children and youth for disobedience and all acts of sinfulness. Forgive
those parents for any abuse or neglect of their children and youth. Forgive those for being so preoccupied with
their own needs that they fail to have structure in their homes for healthy meals and quality family time.

Prayer Topic #8:
A Prayer of Healing for Persons Diagnosed with Cancer
Scripture Reading:
Psalm 66:1-8, Isaiah 53:4-5
Reflections of the Heart:
Jesus is the same today, yesterday, and forever! In Mark 16:17-18 (NLT), Jesus said, “These signs will
accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak new languages.
They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. They
will be able to place their hands on the sick and heal them.” Therefore, as believers, let us do what Jesus did!
Scriptural Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for watching over those persons who have been diagnosed with cancer.
Thank You for Your healing power. Thank You, Lord, for declaring us overcomers by the blood of the Lamb
and by the word of our testimony. Lord, we proclaim Your righteousness and praise all the day long. Your
faithful love endures forever and Your mercies never cease. Great is Your faithfulness. Who can compare to
You? We exalt Your Holy and Righteous Name. You are the Holy One of Israel who sent Jesus, our Lord and
Savior, to redeem all humankind from the curse of the law of sin and death.
Awesome Father, Your thoughts towards us are of peace and not evil, to give us a future and a hope. We
believe that it is Your will that we live free from all diseases. Lord, by the authority given to us, we declare that
the infirmity of cancer with its many forms and common types - bladder, breast, colon and rectal, endometrial,
leukemia, lung, melanoma, pancreatic, prostate, skin, thyroid and other types are destroyed, in Jesus’ Name.
We command the primary abnormally deformed cell to die at its root and the metastasizing cells to cease from
spreading throughout the body, especially to the lungs, bones, liver, brain and lymphatic system. We command
the increased production of healthy cells to destroy renegade cells. Lord, as a Church Family, we declare that
our members who have been diagnosed with cancer will not die; but live to tell what You have done. Lord, as
a king of the King and a lord of the Lord, I command the Kingdom domain of healing to manifest in the body of
(name the person(s) who need healing from cancer). I declare that supernatural healing is flowing
throughout his/her body, in Jesus Name.
List the names of persons who are battling with cancer. Now, declare this word over their lives today
and encourage them to trust the Lord. Give them a copy of the healing Scriptures and encourage them
to
pray
them.

Holy Spirit, please reveal the cure for cancer. We ask You to increase the wisdom and knowledge of medical

biological therapy, hormone therapy, surgery, cryosurgery and other procedures. Holy Spirit, comfort and
strengthen their family members. Help their family members to walk in love, peace, patience and faith. Please
protect those who have not been touched by cancer. Destroy any triggers that would create cancerous cells in
our bodies. Lord, help us to break poor eating and sleeping habits. Remind us to exercise, eat healthy and
get enough sleep. Touch our society to promote healthy lifestyle practices.
Loving Father, we ask You to forgive the sins of those diagnosed with cancer. Forgive us all for unhealthy
lifestyles and habits. Forgive us for not being good stewards of neither our bodies nor our children’s. Forgive
us for holding grudges, unforgiveness, resentment, and embedded anger. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins

Prayer Topic #9:
A Prayer for Healthy Lifestyles
Scripture Reading:
Psalm 135:1-7, Daniel 1:8-16
Reflections of the Heart:
If we are to accomplish all that the Lord has for us to do, we must take care of our physical bodies. Make a
commitment to live a lifestyle that includes healthy eating, exercise and the proper amounts of rest, so you can
be the best you can be!
Scriptural Prayer:
Glorious Father, we thank You for life. Thank You for granting each member of our Church Family sound
minds and bodies. Thank You for giving us the wisdom on how to live healthy lifestyles. We give thanks
because You are near. People everywhere will tell of Your wonderful deeds. Lord, You are good and Your
unfailing love endures forever. You are great and You perform wonderful deeds. You alone are God. How
great are Your signs and how powerful are Your wonders. Your Kingdom will last forever, Your rule through all
generations. Lord, You are high above all the nations. Your glory is higher than the heavens. Who can be
compared with You, our God, who is enthroned on high.
Triumphant Father, as a Church Family, we declare that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit who lives
in us and was given to us by You. We confess that we will be good stewards over the bodies that You have
given to us. Lord, because we realize that the food we put in our bodies can impact our mental, emotional,
physical and spiritual capabilities, we declare that we will improve our eating habits and we will include
exercise in our daily activities. Father, we declare that we will not increase our blood pressure through worry
and anxiety. We decree that we will not worry about anything; instead we will pray about everything. We will
tell You what we need and thank You for all that You have already done for us. Then, we will experience Your
peace which will guard our hearts and minds as we live in Christ Jesus. Lord, we decree that each Church
Family member will get the proper amount of rest each night when they lie down to sleep. They will sleep in
peace; for You alone will keep them safe. We boldly declare that every member of Windsor Village United
Methodist Church will live the rich and satisfying life that Christ Jesus came to give them.
Holy Spirit, show me what lifestyle changes I need to make and help me to yield control to You, so I
can accomplish these changes:
________________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________________
Holy Spirit, please help us to prioritize our days so that we can include exercise. God’s Word tells us that a
cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength. Please help each of us to
develop a cheerful disposition. Help us to enjoy life and laugh more. Help each Church Family member to find
healthy, holy activities that will help them to relax. Remind each of us to eat our fruits and vegetables and to
drink plenty of water daily.
Merciful Father, forgive us for not taking care of our bodies. Forgive us for activities and habits that have been
detrimental to our health including smoking, excessive drinking, poor eating habits, not exercising, not drinking
water and not getting enough sleep. Forgive us for worrying about the cares of life instead of trusting You to
care for us. Forgive us for causing physical harm to our bodies by walking in unforgiveness and bitterness.
Forgive us for passing unhealthy lifestyles on to the generations after us. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins
that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind each of us of those we need to forgive help us to be quick to
forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask
the Holy Spirit to show you names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He shows you,

say aloud, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused
by unforgiveness.)
Marvelous Father, help us all to not yield to temptation; but deliver us from the evil one.

by Your power and preserve it by Your wisdom. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #10:
Opening Church Family Fast Prayer
Scripture Reading:
Psalm 103, Joel 2:12-19
Reflections of the Heart:
There are seasons when the Lord asks us to turn away from food and carnal pleasures and focus our full
attention on Him and His Kingdom. As we fast and pray as a Church Family, expect to grow closer to the Lord
and to hear more clearly from Him.
Scriptural Prayer:
Blessed Father, we thank You for our Church Family. Thank You for this consecrated season of prayer and
fasting. Thank You for coming close to us as we come close to You. We are grateful that You are our God
and we bless Your wonderful Name. Heavenly Father, Your majestic Name fills the earth! Your glory is higher
than the heavens. You have taught children and infants to tell of Your strength, silencing Your enemies and all
who oppose You. With all our hearts, we will praise You and tell of the marvelous things You have done. We
will sing praises to Your Name, Lord Most High. Lord, You are in Your holy Temple; You still rule from heaven.
You closely watch everyone, examining every person on the earth.
Gracious Father, as a Church Family, we declare that it is Your will that we fast. We confess that fasting is a
part of living in Your Kingdom and obedience is better than sacrifice. Therefore, we will enter into this season
of consecration as a united Church Family. During this sacred time, we will give our bodies to You because of
all You have done for us. We will let them be living and holy sacrifices—the kind that You will find acceptable.
For we know that this is truly how we can worship You. We declare that we will not copy the behavior and
customs of this world, but we will let You, Father, transform us into new people by changing the way we think.
Then, we will learn to know Your will for our lives, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Lord, we decree
that Your chosen fast will be operable in our lives through the Promise of Giving as we feed the hungry and
help those in trouble. As we do this, our light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around us will
be as bright as noon. Father, we confess that we will be diligent in prayer without ceasing during this time of
fasting. We will meditate on Your Word day and night, and observe to do all that is within it.
Holy Spirit, show me those areas of my life that I need to surrender to the Father during the fast:
________________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________________
Holy Spirit, during this time of fasting please give us the power to overcome our fleshly appetites. Help us to
follow You and the instructions given during the Church Family Fast. As we pray during the fast, Father,
please speak to us and give us wisdom, increase our discernment and show us Your plans for our lives
individually as well as corporately for this season. Touch the hearts of our members who have not made the
decision to join us on the fast. Lord, as we pray, please hear our prayers. Holy Spirit, teach us how to honor
Jesus Christ, our Savior and to revere God, our Father, as we worship Him in spirit and in truth.
Righteous Father, forgive us as a Church Family for our sins. Forgive those members who are able to fast but
are choosing not to fast. Please forgive those for stubbornness, selfishness and/or rebellion. Please help us
all to submit to this time of fasting and trust You. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have
committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for
me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to
show you names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He shows you, say aloud, “I
forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by
unforgiveness.)

Worthy Father, help us all to not yield to temptation; but deliver us from the evil one.
Holy Lord, You alone are God. You are great! You are robed with honor and majesty. You are dressed in a
robe of light. You stretch out the starry curtain of the heavens. You lay the rafters of Your home in the rain
clouds. You make the clouds Your chariot and ride upon the wings of the wind. The Lord of Heaven’s Armies
is Your Name! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. Your unfailing love toward those
who fear You is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. Let the whole world fear You, Lord. Let
everyone stand in awe of You. Almighty God, You are so awesome! Father, You are great and most worthy of
praise. We will praise You at all times and constantly speak of Your praises.
Righteous Father, as the Windsor Village United Methodist Church Family, we declare that we will obey Your
commands, walk in Your ways, and fear You. We confess that Your instructions are perfect, reviving our
souls. Your decrees are trustworthy, making wise the simple. Your commandments are right, bringing joy to
our hearts. Your commands are clear, giving insight for living. Revering You is pure, lasting forever. Your
laws are true and each one is fair. Father, Your Word is more desirable than gold, yes, even the finest gold.
Your Word is sweeter than honey dripping from the honeycomb. Your Word warns us and we expect great
reward as we obey it. We declare that as we are willing and obedient to You, we will eat the good of the land.
We will seek Your Kingdom above all else, and live righteously, and we know that You will give us everything
we need.
I will obey God, the Father, in the following areas:

Omnipotent Father, please let Your ears be attentive to our prayer. Holy Spirit, show us individually and
collectively where we are consistently missing the mark. Help us to turn from our areas of disobedience and
fully release our whole hearts to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Remind us to continue to encourage each other
and build each other up on a daily basis.
Compassionate Father, forgive us for sins of pride, rebellion, disobedience, selfishness, hatred, and idolatry.
Lord, forgive us for half-hearted worship. Forgive us for disrespecting Your Name and treating You irreverently.
Forgive us where we have not glorified Your Name and Your Kingdom by our actions and lifestyles. Lord,
forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind each of us of those we need to
forgive and help us to be quick to forgive.
Omniscient Father, help us all to not yield to temptation; but deliver us from the evil one.
Triumphant Lord, You are the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. You are the God who is, and
who was, and who is still to come – the Almighty One, El Shaddai. All honor and glory belongs to You, God,
44
forever and ever! You are the eternal King, the unseen One who never dies; You alone are God. Yours is the
Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #12:
A Prayer for Deliverance
Scripture Reading:
Hebrews 1:8-12, Isaiah 1:1-20
Reflections of the Heart:
The Lord knows how to rescue Godly people from their trials, even while keeping the wicked under punishment
until the day of final judgment. II Peter 2:9 (NLT)
Scriptural Prayer:
Glorious Father, Lord of Heaven’s Armies, we thank You for being our Great Deliverer. You continue to save
us from our enemies and defeated our foes. No matter what the problem, the situation or the stronghold, we
can truly say that there is nothing too hard for You. Thank You for our deliverance. You have been our refuge
and our strength and we are truly grateful. Thank You for Your Word. We can stand sure-footed on every
promise for Your promises are backed by the honor of Your Name. Father, we rejoice and lift our hands to
praise You, today. Why look up to the mountains? Does our help come from there? No. Our help comes from
You, Lord, who made heaven and earth! You have listened to our prayers and rescued us as You promised.
Praise flows from our lips, for You have taught us Your decrees. Our tongues sing about Your Word, for all
Your commands are right. We praise You for Your faithfulness and everlasting love.
Abba Father, we live in a time when sin is rampant, even among the Body of Christ. But, as Kingdom citizens,
we confess that we will hold to our commitment to live pure and holy lives by the power of the Holy Spirit. We
will stay alert and watch out for our great enemy, the devil, for we know that he prowls around like a roaring
lion, looking for someone to devour. We will obey the instructions of the Lord Jesus who told us to pray so that
we will not give in to temptation. Lord, we know that some who are among us have fallen into traps and have
become ensnared by their own flesh. But, we will continue to pray that true conviction will stir their hearts to
repent and humble themselves before You at this time. We understand that if we conceal our sins we will not
prosper. But, if we confess and turn from them, we will receive mercy. Father, mercy is what we need. We put
our trust in You and we know that Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, is faithful to deliver us from every evil
attack and bring us safely into His heavenly Kingdom. We declare that no weapon turned against us will
succeed and we expect that You will silence every voice that accuses us.
Holy Spirit, renew the hope of those who have grown weary waiting on their time of deliverance. Remind us all
that Jesus, the Anointed One, came to proclaim the release of those who have been held captive and that He
has set free those who have been oppressed. Encourage their hearts to know that the time of the Lord’s favor
has come! Show us all how to fully embrace the redemptive freedom we have through Jesus Christ.
Strengthen us to let go of old mindsets and destructive habits that have been keeping us in bondage. Let us
once again be renewed in our inner man through the hearing and doing of God’s Word. Help us to hold to the
Father’s promises, for in them we have eternal life. As a Church Family, help us to hold one another
accountable, by confessing our sins and praying for one another so that we are healed. Guide us through the
process of deliverance and help us to be patient as we are transforming. Teach us to live holy lives that please
the Lord.
Ask the Holy Spirit to show you any areas in your life and in your family where there is still bondage.
List them here. Then pray and earnestly seek the Lord for deliverance from these areas:

Faithful Father, we admit that there are times when we have rebelled against You in favor of our own way.
Please forgive us for our sins and iniquities. Forgive us for affecting the lives of others through our

disobedience. Forgive us for making vows before You and breaking them. Forgive our lack of commitment to
studying Your Word. Forgive those of us who keep placing ourselves in compromising positions, giving the
enemy entrance into our lives and homes. Forgive us for not always keeping You first in our lives. Lord, forgive
me for (list any sins that You have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us of all those we need to forgive and
help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a
moment and ask the Holy Spirit to show You names or faces of people that You may need to forgive.
As He shows You, say aloud, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in
Your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

triumph. Lord, Your strong right arm has done glorious things! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #13:
A Prayer of Repentance and Self-Examination
Scripture Reading:
Psalm 98, Matthew 9:1-13
Reflections of the Heart:
“Explore thyself. Herein are demanded the eye and the nerve.” ~ Henry David Thoreau
Scriptural Prayer:
Generous Father, we thank You for providing a special time for us to examine our lives and repent. Thank You
for saving us and giving us eternal life. Thank You for thinking thoughts of peace towards us. Thank You for
designing a future for us that is full of hope, good and not evil. You are our refuge and strength. You are
always ready to help in times of trouble. We do not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble
into the sea. Let the ocean roar and foam. Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge. The Lord of
Heaven’s Armies is here among us; and God of Israel is our fortress. You are a God of righteousness and
justice.
Heavenly Father, Your Word says that those who stand in Your presence must have clean hands and a pure
heart. We cannot worship idols or speak lies. During this week of repentance and self-reflection, we take the
time to examine ourselves and allow the Holy Spirit to show us where we have sinned. Father, we know that
we have sinned and fallen short of Your glory, but You have provided redemption through Your Son, Jesus,
and we gladly receive His sacrifice. We confess that we will not be like those who steal, murder, commit
adultery, lie, and bow to the gods of this world and then run into Your house declaring that we are safe, only to
return to the same evil again. During this time of repentance, we will be honest with You and ourselves about
the condition of our lives. We are a people who love You wholeheartedly and trust You with our lives. Holy
Spirit, as You show us our sins this week, we will repent and turn away from them. As a Church Family, we
choose to discipline our bodies and minds and bring them into subjection; so that our witness to other people is
genuine and we will not later find ourselves disqualified.
I am not perfect, and I could do better in the following areas of my life:
________________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________________
_______________________________________________________________________________________
Holy Spirit, help us to overcome pride and any obstacles that keep us from growing in God. We know that a
heart without God is deceitful above all things, and it is desperately wicked. So, please search our hearts and
test our minds. Create in us a clean heart and renew in us a right spirit. Help us, Holy Spirit, to release all
control to You daily, so that Your fruit will operate in us.
Sin has a foothold in my life. (List those areas). I will take the following action to break sins hold on
my life:
________________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________________
_______________________________________________________________________________________
Forgiving Father, forgive us collectively and individually for the sins that we have committed against You.
Forgive us for not living as a people who has been set apart for Your good pleasure. Forgive us for continually
running back to sin. Forgive us where we have grown lukewarm in our relationship with You. Forgive us for
fornication, slander, lying, jealousy, murmuring and complaining. Forgive us for using our mouths against our
brothers and sisters in Christ with gossip, instead of building them up and people in general. Holy Spirit, shine
Your light of revelation upon our hearts and show us the areas in our lives where we need to repent. Lord,
forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive
and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive.

(Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to show you names or faces of people that you may need to
forgive. As He shows you, say aloud, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any
wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)
Faithful Father, help us to not yield to temptation; but deliver us from the evil one.
Lord, You are the only true and living God. You are the everlasting King! The whole earth trembles at Your
anger. The nations hide before Your wrath. You merely spoke, and the heavens were created. You breathed
the word, and all the stars were born. Let everyone in the world fear You, Lord, and let them stand in awe of
You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #14:
A Prayer Regarding Unforgiveness Toward Self
Scripture Reading:
Psalm 89:1-8, Psalm 51
Reflections of the Heart:
“But if we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all
wickedness” I John 1:9. Therefore, since God forgives your sins, you need to forgive yourself and let yourself
off the hook!
Scriptural Prayer:
Magnificent Father, thank You for loving us, forgiving us and saving us. Thank You for being patient with us.
Thank You for blotting out our sins and never thinking about them again. Thank You for helping each of us to
forgive ourselves for past sins, mistakes and failures. Teach us Your decrees, O Lord; we will keep them to
the end. Give us understanding and we will obey Your instructions; we will put them into practice with all our
hearts. Make us walk along the path of Your commands, for that is where our happiness is found. Lord, as a
Church Family, we give thanks to You and proclaim Your greatness. We will let the whole world know what
You have done. We sing praises to You and exalt in Your Holy Name.
Righteous Father, according to Your Word, there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. So
we declare that those persons in our Church Family who need to forgive themselves from their past will begin
to walk in freedom instead of condemnation. They will truly recognize that they are new people in Christ; their
old lives, including the sins and mistakes of the past, are gone and a new life has begun. We declare that they
know Your voice and the voice of a stranger they will not follow; so they will no longer entertain the thoughts of
self-condemnation or criticism that the enemy would attempt to implant in their minds. They will destroy every
proud obstacle that keeps them from knowing You and the freedom they have in You. They will capture their
rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.
Holy Spirit, we ask You to help all of us to forgive people who have hurt us, including ourselves. Heal our
emotions that have been wounded and teach us how to love unconditionally. Help us to be quick to listen and
slow to speak. Holy Spirit, remind us to use Your power living on the inside of us which helps us in all things.
Lord, help us to extend mercy to others and forget the past so that we can move forward toward our futures.
Forgiving Father, we know that we have not always demonstrated Your character. Please have mercy upon us
and do not take Your Spirit from us. You are our strong tower; without You we will perish. Please forgive us
for not forgiving ourselves when You have already forgiven us. Forgive us for not letting Your love flow
through us. Forgive us for rehearsing our past offenses in our minds. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that
you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all to forgive each other and other people, and please help us to
Write down those things that you are struggling to forgive yourself for. Now after you ask God to
forgive you for that sin, draw a line through it as a reminder that it is now forgiven!

Prayer Topic #15:
A Declaration of Forgiveness of Others
Scripture Reading:
Nehemiah 9:6-15, Matthew 6:9-15
Reflections of the Heart:
It is impossible to live and not be hurt or offended. Jesus said “If another believer sins, rebuke that person;
then if there is repentance, forgive. Even if that person wrongs you seven times a day and each time turns
again and asks forgiveness, you must forgive.” Luke 17:3-4
Scriptural Prayer:
Magnificent Father, thank You for loving us, forgiving us and saving us. Thank You for being patient with us.
Thank You for increasing Your presence, power, anointing, and abundance in our lives. We give thanks to
You and proclaim Your greatness. Lord, we will let the whole world know what You have done in our lives.
We will sing to You the praises due Your Name and tell everyone about Your wonderful deeds. We honor You
and we bless You. With all our souls and all that is within us, we bless Your Holy Name. You have crowned
us with loving-kindness and tender mercies and filled our lives with good things. Your compassion towards us
is unfailing and Your mercies are new every morning. Lord, Your faithfulness is great towards us.
Righteous Father, Your Word tells us that if we forgive those who have sinned against us, then You, our
Heavenly Father, will forgive us. Today, we choose to forgive. We declare that we will be patient with people
and forgive those who have offended us personally.
Holy Spirit, we ask You to help all of us individually and as a community to forgive people who have hurt us.
Heal our emotions that have been wounded and teach us how to love unconditionally. Help us to be quick to
listen and slow to speak. Holy Spirit, remind us to use Your power living on the inside of us which helps us in
all things. Remove all fear and continue to extend Your love and mercy toward us. Lord, help us to extend
mercy to others and forget the past so that we can move forward toward our futures.
Forgiving Father, we know that we have not always demonstrated Your character. We acknowledge our
sinfulness and ask You to have mercy upon us. Please have mercy upon us and do not take Your Spirit from
us. We need You, although we do not always act as if we need You. You are our strongtower; without You we
will perish. Please forgive us for not being forgiving. Forgive us for holding grudges, thinking evil thoughts,
and seeking revenge. Forgive us for hatred and malice. Forgive us for not letting Your love flow through us.
Forgive us for gossiping, lying and for rehearsing offenses in our minds. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins
that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all to forgive each other and other people, and please help
us to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and
ask the Holy Spirit to show you names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He shows
you, say aloud, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul
caused by unforgiveness.)
Write the person(s) name(s) and beside it write “you are forgiven”! If you need to ask someone for
forgiveness, then ask and move forward in your life.

Prayer Topic #16:
A Prayer for the Educators and Students at Our Schools
Scripture Reading:
Psalm 93, Proverbs 2:1-15
Reflections of the Heart:
Aside from their parents, teachers have one of the greatest impacts on a child’s life. The words that educators
speak into our children’s lives will either reinforce or conflict with what they receive from their parents. Let’s
pray for those who are speaking into our children; that they will be led and directed by Godly wisdom and
discernment.
Scriptural Prayer:
Our Father, we praise and thank You for our educators and students of (speak the name of your school).
Thank You for our school and the (speak the name of your school district). Thank You for surrounding our
educators and students with favor like a shield. We exalt You, our God and King and praise Your Name
forever and ever. We will praise You every day and forever. Lord You are great and most worthy of praise; no
one can measure Your greatness. Each generation will tell its children of Your mighty acts and proclaim Your
power. Your unfailing love, O Lord, is as vast as the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds.
Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains and Your justice like the ocean depths. Today, we come
clapping our hands and shouting to You with joyful praise. You are the Lord, Most High, and You are
awesome! You are the great King of all the earth.
Triumphant Father, we confess that like Jesus, our students will grow in wisdom, stature and favor with You
and all people. They will continue to focus on their studies and not grow distracted or complacent. We decree
that each student will work willingly in their classes as though they were working for You. Lord, we declare that
no evil will conquer them, nor will any plague come near their homes. We expect for You to order Your angels
to protect them wherever they go. We decree that the wisdom of God will enter and rule in their hearts. Our
students will respect and obey the instructions of their parents, teachers and school administrators. We declare
that the wise instruction of our teachers will be like a life-giving fountain to each student. In Jesus’ Name, our
parents will direct their children onto the right path, and when they are older they will not leave it. Our students
will have good success because they will meditate daily and obey Your Word.
Today, I confess the following promises of God upon (list the name(s) of your school principal(s).

Holy Spirit, impart into our students Your spirit of excellence, like Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego.
Bless our educators for their service to our community. Help them to remain committed to their educational
“calling.” Keep them safe in their classrooms and lead and guide them as they teach. Grant each teacher
wisdom, creativity, and grace to teach each child according to his or her needs, level of intelligence, and
learning capabilities. Increase the wisdom and understanding of our parents on how to partner with our school
to achieve success in our student’s education. Bless the homes of our students to be a place of love, peace
and support. We ask You to increase the capacity of our students to learn, comprehend and excel in all areas
of their education including: reading, mathematics, sciences, arts, and all required testing. During their
extracurricular activities, please protect them from injury. Help each student to develop Godly friendships and
relationships. Holy Spirit, create within each student, teacher, and administrator of our school an excitement,
passion and academic desire.
Merciful Father, forgive the sins of our educators and students (speak the specific sins). Forgive those of us
in the Body of Christ, for being negligent in prayer for our schools. Forgive those parents for negligence in
54
teaching their students to first reverence You, which is the foundation of true knowledge. Forgive those
parents for sacrificing their students to excessive television, video games, music and to the ways and customs
of the world. Forgive us, as a nation, for devaluing the worth of teachers and education. Holy Spirit, remind
our educators and students of (speak the name of your school) of those they need to forgive and help them
to be quick to forgive.
Holy Spirit, help our educators and students of (speak the name of your school) to not yield to temptation;
but deliver them from the evil one.
Lord, You are worthy to receive glory, honor and power. You created all things, and they exist because You
created what You pleased. Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #17:
Closing Church Family Fast Prayer
Scripture Reading:
Isaiah 44:23-28, Isaiah 58:6-12
Reflections of the Heart:
As we end our Church Family Fast, take some time to thank God for His presence, provision and power that
He has demonstrated during this time of consecration. Review those things He revealed to you and partner
with the Holy Spirit to create an action plan to implement them.
Scriptural Prayer:
Glorious Father, we come before Your presence with thanksgiving. We thank You for blessing us throughout
our Church Family Fast. We have been blessed by Your love, presence, and anointing. Thank You for helping
us to overcome our hunger pangs and resist foods that we love to eat. Thank You for speaking to us through
Your Word and maturing us in Your wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. There were times on the fast that
were challenging, but You helped us to remain strong and focused. You are an awesome Father. We, Your
children, are so glad to be a part of Your household of faith. We honor You, the only true God; the living God
and the everlasting King. The whole earth trembles at Your anger and nations cannot stand up to Your wrath.
You made the earth by Your power and You preserve it by Your wisdom. With Your own understanding, You
stretched out the heavens. We love You! Hallel YAH!
Gracious Father, we have tried to fast according to Your Word in Isaiah 58. We have shared food, clothing,
and basic necessities with the poor. We have helped the homeless and our relatives. We have tried to live in
Your righteousness and justice. We pray that our efforts have brought You glory. We are expecting Your
salvation to come like the dawn. We are expecting our wounds (physical, emotional, and spiritual) to heal
quickly. We look forward to Your Godliness leading us forward and Your glory protecting us from behind. We
are fully confident that when we call on You, You will answer quickly, “Yes, I am here.” Hallel YAH! We look
forward to You giving us water when we are dry and restoring our strength when we are weak. As a result of
our fasting, we expect to be like a well-watered garden and ever-flowing spring. As a Church Family, we will
continue to rebuild deserted ruins in our communities. We will be Your rebuilders of walls and restorers of
homes. We are expecting Your Kingdom to advance through us. Thank You for using us.
List three things the Holy Spirit has shown you during the fast:

Holy Spirit, help us not to go back to old unhealthy eating habits. Help us to continue our discipline of being
with You daily through prayer and the study of Your Word. This has been a refreshing time of restoration and
we commit to keeping these new and improved habits.
Merciful Father, forgive those who could have fasted, but refused to participate. Forgive all of us for anything
we have thought, said or done that does not align with Your righteousness. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins
that you have committed). Holy Spirit, continue to remind us all of people we need to forgive and help us to
Holy Spirit, help us all to not yield to temptation; but deliver us from the evil one.

Prayer Topic #18:
A Prayer of Preparation for the Passover
Scripture Reading:
Nehemiah 9:5-8, Luke 22:7-30
Reflections of the Heart:
Moses was chosen by God to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. God made a promise to the children of Israel.
He said, “I am the Lord, and I will free you from your slavery in Egypt. I will redeem you with mighty power and
great acts of judgment. I will make you My own special people, and I will be your God. And you will know that
I am the Lord Your God who has rescued you from your slavery in Egypt. I will bring you into the land I swore
to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. It will be your very own property. I am the Lord!” Exodus 6:6-8 Today,
God’s promise is for every believer. Receive His promise and enjoy Your freedom in Christ.
Scriptural Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for loving us so much that You wouldn’t leave us in our sins. Thank You, Lord
Jesus, for being the Sacrificial, Passover Lamb so that we may be redeemed back to the Father. Thank You,
Holy Spirit, for drawing us to the Father and piercing our hearts to say “yes” when He called us. Triumphant
Lord, we praise You. With our whole hearts we thank You as we meet with Your Godly people. Your deeds
are amazing! All who delight in You shall ponder them. Everything that You do reveals Your glory and
majesty. Your righteousness never fails. You cause us to remember Your wonderful works. You are so
gracious and merciful!
Blessed Father, You said that if we will come close to You, You will come close to us. As a Church Family, we
will draw close to You during the Spring Feasts. We confess that as we prepare for the Passover and the
Feast of Unleavened Bread, we will adjust our schedules and slow down so that we can give You our full
attention. You said that Your people are being destroyed because they do not know You. As a Church Family,
we declare that we will learn more about You and Your love for us during this special time. We look forward to
remembering and celebrating You. We are expecting to meet You at this time. We will not miss our
appointment. We declare that the joy, peace, health and provision of the Lord, will overtake our congregation.
I commit to laying the following things aside during this time so that I can spend more time with the
Father:

Holy Spirit, please open the eyes of our understanding to know the hope of our calling in Jesus Christ, what
are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power
toward us who believe. Consecrate us as we gather together during Holy Week. Unite our Church Family as a
community of believers during the Seder meal. Show those of us who are preparing for our at-home Seders,
who to invite and help us to share the importance of the Seder dinner with our guests in a clear and appealing
manner. Father, bless us and help us to teach our children Your statutes in our homes. Increase our wisdom,
discernment, and revelation knowledge as we prepare for Passover. Reveal to us the sin in our lives which is
not seen by the naked eye, so that we may repent.
Saving Father, forgive us for not being more committed to You. Forgive us for having a form of godliness, but
denying Your power. Forgive those of us who speak of You with our lips, but our hearts are far from You.
Lord, create within us clean hearts and renew a steadfast spirit within us. Forgive us for being selfish, selfseeking, and only concerned about those things that benefit us directly. Lord, please hear our prayers and
forgive us of our sin when we pray during the Passover season. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you
58
have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As
for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy
Spirit to show you names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He shows you, say
aloud, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by
unforgiveness.)
Righteous Father, as a Church Family, help us to not yield to temptation; but deliver us from the evil one.
Worthy King, there is no one like You. You are great and Your Name is full of power. Who would not fear You,
O King of the nations? That title belongs to You alone. Among all the wise people of the earth and in all the
kingdoms, there is no one like You! The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is Your Name! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #19:
A Declaration of Kingdom Fellowship
Scripture Reading:
Psalm 22:22-25, Acts 2:42-44
Reflections of the Heart:
We are more than a church congregation, we are a Church Family. What affects one of us affects all of us.
So, take time out to get to know your fellow brothers and sisters in your Church Family and spend time sharing
and praying for one another.
Scriptural Prayer:
Abba Father, we thank You for righteous fellowship among the believers in our church and beyond. We thank
You for ordering our steps in Your Word. Thank You for the events, activities and programs at Windsor Village
United Methodist Church that help to create fellowship within our Church Family. We are grateful for our
fellowship and communion which we have with You, our Father; Jesus, our Savior; and the Holy Spirit, our
Sustainer. We thank You with all of our hearts as we meet with Your Godly people. Lord, You are an
awesome God. Your deeds are so amazing; all who delight in You should ponder them. Everything You do
reveals Your glory and majesty. Your righteousness never fails. You are wonderful and Your Name is highly
exalted. You are worthy of all our praise. You are worthy of the glory, honor and power. Lord, the heavens
declare Your glory and the skies display Your craftsmanship.
Mighty Father, Your will is for us to dwell together in unity. As a Church Family, we will motivate one another
to acts of love and good works. We will not neglect our meeting together; but we will encourage one another in
the faith. We will not get tired of doing what is good for each other. As a result, we expect to reap a harvest of
blessing at the right time. We will not give up and at every opportunity we will do good to everyone—especially
to those in our family of faith. Iron sharpens iron so we will surround ourselves with those who have like minds
so that we are positioned to glorify You in our public and private lives. We will engage in righteous fellowship
and forsake all that will deter us from fulfilling Your will. We will be doers of Your Word and not hearers only.
We will fight for righteous fellowship and we will win.
Holy Spirit, we ask that You align our relationships with Your will in our homes, church, jobs and communities.
Show each of us how to organize our calendars and schedules so that Godly fellowship is more of a priority.
Send Godly friends to those who are lonely. Help our Church Family to set the example of what righteous
fellowship looks like. Knit our hearts closer together. Lord, help us to be obedient as You order our steps.
Give us the power to crucify our flesh and walk in Your light. As we yield to the power of the Holy Spirit, help
us to drop our gossip buddies, smoking buddies, promiscuous buddies, club-hopping buddies and anyone who
the devil may use to keep us from glorifying God through our fellowship with the righteous. Help us to let our
light so shine before people that they may see our good works and glorify You, our Heavenly Father.
Holy Spirit, show me how to strengthen the God-ordained relationships in my life. Show me those
relationships that I need to end and give me the strength to end them:
________________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________________
Merciful Father, forgive us for our sins. Forgive those who do not participate in Church Family activities.
Forgive those for the unrighteous relationships that keep them from Your best for their lives. Forgive those for
disobedience when You have told them to end certain relationships and they refuse to do so. Forgive all of us
for putting our work in front of family and friends. Forgive us for acts of sinfulness, including: hatred, rebellion,
murder, idolatry, homosexuality, greed, racism, adultery, fornication, injustice, and violence. Forgive us for the
works of the flesh and the pride of life. Forgive us for having fellowship or relationship with anything that is not
60
of You. Forgive us for the doors that we may have opened without knowing it from our childhood or adult
experiences. Help us to know that there is no condemnation to those of us who are in Christ and that as we
confess our sins, we are forgiven and that You remember them no more. Father, forgive me for (list any sins
that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to
forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the
Holy Spirit to show you names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He shows you, say
aloud, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by
unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation; but deliver us from the evil one.
O Lord, the God of our ancestor Israel, You are to be praised forever and ever. Yours, O Lord, is the
greatness, power, glory, victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is Yours. This is
Your Kingdom, Lord, and You are over all things. Wealth and honor come from You alone, for You rule over
everything. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #20:
A Prayer of Freewill Giving to God’s Kingdom
Scripture Reading:
Psalm 148, Leviticus 23:5-22
Reflections of the Heart:
We often give gifts to those we love. During the feast seasons, the Lord asks that we bring a special offering
to Him. Begin to pray and ask the Holy Spirit what gift you can bring the Father that will reflect your love for
Him.
Scriptural Prayer:
Honorable Father, we thank You for the Spring Feasts. Thank You for this special time to commune with You.
Thank You for providing for our families so that we can bring an offering back to You. Lord, the heavens
proclaim Your glory and the skies display Your craftsmanship. Day after day they continue to speak; night after
night they make Your presence known. We praise You, our Rock. Be exalted, the God of our salvation! We
will praise You among the nations and sing praises to Your Name! Because of You, Lord, we are filled with
laughter, and we sing for joy. Others have said what amazing things the Lord has done for them. Yes, You,
Lord, have done amazing things for the Windsor Village United Methodist Church Family! What joy we have
experienced with You!
Loving Father, You have set the appointed times for us to celebrate and worship You in the spring. As a part
of the celebration, Your Word instructs us to bring offerings as a sign of our love and devotion to You. As a
Church Family, we will obey Your Word and we look forward to giving of our best. We will give with cheerful
hearts to You during the Spring Feasts. As we give, we trust that according to Your Word, You will generously
provide all that we need. Then, we will always have everything we need and have plenty left over to share with
others. We confess that we will trust You with our finances and will give as we are led by the Holy Spirit.
Holy Spirit, my Unleavened Bread and Firstfruits offerings will be:

Holy Spirit, please help us to yield our hearts to You as You lead and direct us in our giving during the Spring
Feasts. Help us to be willing and generous in our giving and not hesitant or stingy. Lord, You said that if we
honored Your feasts, You would increase our harvest. Father, touch the financial seeds that we have planted
and cause them to grow. Bless us with increase so that we will have a tremendous offering to give to You
during the Fall Feasts. Increase our faith to trust You for unseen and miraculous financial blessings. For those
in need of financial resurrection, bless their finances. Father, bless those who do not have anything to give
with a miraculous offering. Help our Church Family to honor You with disciplined financial stewardship.
Father, show us Your glory as we give our offerings during the Spring Feasts and please accept them as a
sign of our love and devotion to You.
Loving Father, forgive us when we have not brought our tithes and offerings to You. Forgive our hesitancy
when we are asked to give to You. Forgive those who have created financial situations in their lives that are so
desperately in need of repair that they are not positioned to give freely during the feasts. Forgive all of us for
any selfishness or greed. Remind us of those that we owe so that we may repay our debts. Lord, forgive me
for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help
us to be quick to forgive.

Immortal Father, help us to not yield to temptation; but deliver us from the evil one.
Lord God, the Almighty, You are the one who is and who always was. You have assumed Your great power

Lord. All glory, majesty, power, and authority are Yours before all time, in the present, and beyond all time! In

Prayer Topic #21:
A Prayer for Economic Development in Our Community
Scripture Reading:
Psalm 108, Genesis 41:47-57
Reflections of the Heart:
God believes in economic development. He wants a community to thrive and a nation to flourish. Psalm 33:12
states, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He has chosen as His own inheritance.”
Scriptural Prayer:
Almighty Father, we thank You for providing for Your children, during these tough economic times. Thank You
for being the source of our supply. We thank You for taking care of us and supplying all of our needs from
Your glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus. Father, You created the heavens and the
earth and everything in it. You give breath to everyone and life to everyone who walks the earth. We will
praise Your mighty deeds, O Sovereign Lord. We will tell everyone that You alone are just. We praise You,
Lord! Father God, we are joyful because we fear You, Lord, and delight in obeying Your commands. We are
blessed to be Your children.
Heavenly Father, we expect business leaders in our community to honor Your Word and live by Your precepts.
We command light to shine in the darkness for the Godly. We declare that they are generous, compassionate,
and righteous. Good comes to those who lend money generously and conduct their business fairly. Such
people will not be overcome by evil. Those who are righteous will be long remembered. During the current
economic difficulties in our nation and around the world, we claim prosperity for our community. We decree
that the merchants in our community will not fear bad news; they confidently trust You, Lord, to care for them.
They are confident and fearless and can face their foes triumphantly. They share freely and give generously to
those in need. Their good deeds will be remembered forever. They will have influence and honor. The wicked
will see this and be infuriated. They will grind their teeth in anger; they will slink away, their hopes thwarted.
Lord, we expect You to pour down Your blessings upon our community. We decree that our land will yield its
bountiful harvest. Father, we will support the businesses of the Godly men and women in our community.
Magnificent Father, touch the hearts of the people in our community to support the businesses. Help the
business owners to establish fair and honest business practices so that the residents in our community will
enjoy doing business with them. Show the owners and managers new and creative ways to increase their
revenue without taking advantage of their customers. Convict the hearts of business owners in all communities
who treat their employees and customers poorly. Holy Spirit, help the employees to be diligent, hard working
individuals who will work as unto You instead of to man.
Make a list of businesses in your community and begin to support them.
________________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________________
Righteous Father, forgive the business owners in our community for all acts of sinfulness. Forgive those who
have not been diligent in seeking Your leadership for their businesses. Forgive those who do not trust in You
and Your business principles; but lean on their own understanding. Forgive those who have compromised Your
Word in order to make a profit. Forgive those who have not treated their employees and customers fairly.
Forgive those who have not properly taken care of or shown respect for the community they live in. Lord,
forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind the business owners in our
community of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to
my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to show you names or
64
faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He shows you, say aloud, “I forgive name of
person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help the business owners in our community to not yield to temptation; but deliver them from the evil
one.
Almighty God, You are awesome in Your sanctuary. O God of Israel, You give power and strength to Your
people. Sovereign Lord, You are great! You are robed with honor and majesty. You are the eternal King. In
Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #22:
A Prayer for Political Leaders (local, state, and national)
Scripture Reading:
Psalm 105:1-8, I Timothy 2:1-6
Reflections of the Heart:
When God called Moses to lead His people out of Egypt, the Lord reassured Moses that he was capable of
accomplishing the job. Just as Moses had faith in God, we must have faith that God will carry out His perfect
will here on earth through today’s political leaders. Offering up effective, fervent prayers for our political
leaders will definitely benefit our city, state, and nation more than murmuring and complaining ever will. Pray
for our local, state, and national political leaders so that we can live in peace.
Scriptural Prayer:
Righteous Father, we thank You for blessing our nation to be a mighty government in the earth. Thank You for
allowing us to call upon You in our times of need as a nation. Thank You, Lord, for Your bountiful blessings.
We are grateful, and we bless Your Name. You are robed in majesty and armed with strength. The world
stands firm and cannot be shaken. We praise Your Name, Father, forever and ever. You have all wisdom and
power. You control the course of world events; removing kings and setting up other kings. You give wisdom to
the wise and knowledge to the scholars. You reveal deep and mysterious things and only You know what lies
hidden in darkness, though You are surrounded by light.
Triumphant Father, in obedience to Your Word, we make intercession on behalf of those who are in positions
of authority in our city, state and nation; so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by Godliness and
dignity. Today, we pray for President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, Governor Rick Perry,
Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst, State Comptroller Susan Combs, Senator Ted Cruz, Senator John
Cornyn, Representatives Ted Poe, John Culberson, Kevin Brady, Al Green, Randy Weber, Sheila JacksonLee, Pete Olson and Gene Green. We pray for Mayor Annise Parker, our city council members and HISD
Superintendent Terry Grier, Fort Bend ISD Superintendent Timothy Jenney, HPD Chief of Police, Chief
Charles McClelland, HFD Chief Terry Garrison and all other local leaders. By faith, we call our local, state, and
national leaders saved, sanctified, and filled with Your Holy Spirit. We decree that as they seek the Kingdom
of God above all else, and live righteously, they will receive from You everything they need to lead our city,
state and nation.
Holy Spirit, I commit to pray for the following leaders this month:
________________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________________
Holy Spirit, we ask You to fill our political leaders with wisdom, understanding, discernment, and knowledge.
Grant them favor, increase their faith, and prepare them to pursue Your excellence. Draw them to You and
cause them to know and fulfill Your purposes. We ask You to make their hearts pliable, willing and obedient to
Your will. Cause each of their lives to glorify Your Name.
Loving Father, please forgive our local, state and national leaders for their sins. Forgive those who do not
consult with You daily. Forgive those for greed, hypocrisy, injustice, selfish ambitions, pride, arrogance,
idolatry, adultery, slander, sexism, elitism, oppression, partiality, lust, manipulations, lying, ungodliness,
fornication, homosexuality, perversion, and all other acts of sinfulness. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that
you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind our local, state and national leaders of those they need to forgive
and help them to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a
moment and ask the Holy Spirit to show you names or faces of people that you may need to forgive.
66
As He shows you, say aloud, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in
your soul caused by unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help our local, state and national leaders to not yield to temptation; but deliver them from the evil
one.
Holy, Holy, Holy, are You, the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is and is to come. You alone are God. You
are subject to none, yet all are subject to You. Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. In
Jesus’ Name, Amen.
