The Greeks believed three sister goddesses called The Fates, controlled the metaphorical thread of life of every mortal from birth to death. Clotho (spinner), spun the thread of life; Lachesis (allotter), measured the thread of life to determine how long a person lives; and Atropos (inevitable), chose how a person dies by cutting the thread of life with her shears. The sisters would visit a home three days after a child was born to determine the child's fate. Well, I’m happy to say the Bible doesn’t define destiny as a fate forced upon you by some obscure supernatural agency. The Bible defines destiny as God’s intended purpose for your life! In February and March, we’re going to examine some biblical characters to get a better understanding of destiny. My ultimate goal with this message series is to teach you how to make the most of your life.
