I hope this letter finds you well during this winter’s volatile weather. During this “off season” we have been busy planning for the upcoming golf season. We are working to ensure that our club will continue to meet and exceed your expectations during these dynamic economic times. Here are a few important items of interest. GOLF PROFESSIONAL. After considering more than twenty-five well-qualified applicants for the position of golf professional, we are happy to announce that Judd J. Noto will be joining our team this April. I would like to thank our search committee of Ron Hicinbothem, Jack Mizerak, and Jim LoDolce, who assisted me in interviewing candidates and reviewing their backgrounds. Judd will be a wonderful addition to our club. He is eager to continue the tradition of professional customer service that all of us at the club strive to sustain each and every day. Judd’s experience includes service as the first assistant golf professional at some of the nation’s most exclusive clubs, including National Golf Links of America, Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, Lost Tree Club, and, most recently, the Country Club of Buffalo. He is an upstate New Yorker with experience in all phases of golf shop operations, ranging from teaching and tournament management to membership services including recruitment. In his own words, Judd points out that his “commitment and experience will provide Woodstock Golf Club a stellar golf operation that all members will be proud to have as their own.” Stay tuned for more information and communication from our new golf professional. BAR/RESTAURANT. An unsuccessful search for a new restaurant lessee indicated to us that some industries are still recovering in this economy. As a result, the Board of Directors has decided to operate the restaurant and bar internally, to assure you that a food and beverage operation will be available this season. We will be open for business on opening day. I have begun the process of hiring a manager to assist me in the day-to-day operations; if you know of anyone who would be both qualified and interested in this role, please have him or her contact me as soon as possible. A number of local restaurants have offered to assist in providing food for our major events and help with our daily lunch service. Now that our new golf professional is on board, I will be working to secure a first-rate team for the food and beverage operation. NEW LEAGUES. To encourage more use of the club, we are forming the following new leagues: a Tuesday Senior League, a Thursday Junior League, and a Mixed League (day of the week to be determined). Also new this season is our “spouse membership,” which offers an affordable opportunity to share our “little jewel” with your loved one. Please contact me if you are interested in or need additional information about any of these new programs. PAYMENT TERMS. A reminder: In order to remain in “good standing” under our terms or membership, you must pay at least 50 percent of your total fees by April 1. As in the recent past, all members who pay in full by April 1 will receive two guest greens-fee certificates and two cart-fee certificates. Please support our winter cash flow by making all or part of your payment as soon as possible. Check our website for more club updates and information. Let’s all wish for an early spring so we can to enjoy our wonderful club soon. Best Regards, John Rizza General Manager P.O.
