Remind
Academic GPA
• Fulton County does NOT calculate on a 4.0 scale
• Only core classes are counted (Language Arts, Science, Math,
Foreign Language, and Social Studies)
• Contact the college admissions office
• Fulton County counselors CAN NOT calculate GPA’s for you
GPA
Cumulative Numeric Average:
• GPA for Fulton County
• 100 point scale
• Weighted GPA (includes every grade and honor points)
HOPE GPA
• HOPE Scholarship: 3.0 College Prep
• All honor and AP points are removed
• Calculation and a 0.50 weighting is added back in for AP courses only, not
to exceed 4.0. For example, a grade of 96 in AP Lang/Comp Remove the 7
honor points = 89; usually an 89 = 3.0 however this is an AP course, so 0.50
weighting added back in for an AP course; total weight for this course is 3.5.
• Middle school Courses are NOT counted
• A 2.99 GPA does NOT qualify you for HOPE.
• All calculations are done by the Georgia Student Finance Commission.
