Student Loans
• Entrance Counseling
– For first time borrowers

• Exit Counseling is required when a borrower:
– Does not attend

– Enrolls/Drops below 6 hours of enrollment

The Financial Aid Office generally receives completion
confirmation within 1-3 business days.
Grants
A Federal Pell Grant is money the government provides
for students who need it to pay for college.
Grants and Institutional Grants, unlike loans, do not
need to be repaid. Eligible students receive a specified
amount each year under this program.

• Signed participation agreement at SWTJC.
• Copy of official degree plan on file at RGC FA Office

• Must register at SWTJC and notify RGC of any enrollment changes
within 5 days.

– Other forms such as W-2s, 1098T, 1099, etc. can be printed at the same website

FAQ’S
• Q. What happens if I drop a class?
– A. YOU MAY BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAYMENT of the difference
between the money received and the amount specified for the new
enrollment status.
• Q. What happens if I withdraw?
– A. YOU MAY BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAYING the money received
from financial aid.
– If you drop a class/withdraw, you must make sure you remain in
compliance with our Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) policy.
– If you have received student loans and you fall below
6hours/withdraw/do not enroll, your 6 month grace period will begin.
If you fail to enroll within 6 months, then repayment will begin on
your student loans.
