The ANCC Hemostasis Nursing Certification Through Portfolio Program
Good News!
The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) is developing a new board certification program for
hemostasis nurses! The certification will be earned through a portfolio review.
Partners in Bleeding Disorders Education is helping ANCC and its collaborative partner, ATHN,
to develop the Hemostasis Nursing Certification Through Portfolio Program.
The ANCC’s patented certification through portfolio program was developed as an alternative method for
recognizing registered nurses and advanced practice registered nurses as experts in their specialty areas.
Nurses will be assessed by peers in their specialty area in four domains:
•
•
•
•
Professional Development
Professional and Ethical Nursing Practice
Team Work and Collaboration
Quality and Safety
For more information about this unique board certification, please visit ANCC’s webpage for the
Hemostasis Nursing program.
