General Tips









Itissuggestedthatadvisersdevelopanareaofexpertiseinthecompetitiveeventsbasedon
theirinterestsandexperiences.
Adviserswillwanttoidentifyeachstudent’sstrengthsandenterthestudentinthe
appropriatecompetitiveevents.
TheNebraskaFBLAStateLeadershipConference(SLC)guidelinesrequirethatstudents
enteraminimumofthreeeventsandamaximumofsix.Itissuggestedthateachstudent
enterfiveeventsplusattendtwoworkshops.
Eacheventistargetedforstudentsinspecificgradelevels,e.g.,9‐10.Theguidelinesforeach
eventshouldbecheckedforthespecifiedgradelevels.
o KeyboardingKnowledge,SpellingandProofreadingaretheonlyeventsopento
studentsinGrades7‐8.
o TheFutureBusinessLeaderandJobIntervieweventsareopenonlytoseniors.
Participantsshouldbegiventheguidelinesfortheeventstheyareentering.

o Reviewratingsheetsforthejudgedeventstounderstandtheareasofemphasis.

reconciliation,payroll,trialbalance,journalizing,inventory,depreciation,and
adjusting/closingentries.
Since this is a school site test, the following procedures must be followed:
