Domestic Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Adolescent Females
Collaborators: Dr. Jennifer Murphy (Massachusetts General Hospital and the
Boston Juvenile Court Clinic) and Dr. Rebecca Brendel (Massachusetts General
Hospital)
The purpose of this collaboration is to articulate an integrated, interdisciplinary
model for the identification, evaluation and treatment of affected youth, and to
propose the unique role of psychologists in this work. Collaboration involves two
manuscripts in preparation, organization of a symposium for a national
conference, and grant writing. Secondary aims include a retrospective,
descriptive study of adolescent females seen in the Court Clinic involved in
commercial sexual exploitation in Boston.

Problematic Sexual Behavior in Juveniles
Collaborator: Dr. Fabian Saleh (Massachusetts General Hospital)
The purpose of this collaboration is to consider the developmental factors that
inform problematic sexual behavior in juveniles and the implications of these
factors on evaluation and risk management. This includes a first-authored book
chapter on “sexting,” cybersex and pornography use among adolescents, which
has been accepted for publication in the Clinical Handbook of Adolescent
Addiction (John Wiley & Sons), and an oral presentation at a national conference
that is currently under review.
