Communication Studies 1A is a unique six-week communication course designed especially for nonnative speakers
LEARN THE PRINCIPLES OF ORAL COMMUNICATION THAT WILL MAKE YOU A MORE EFFECTIVE SPEAKER!
This course teaches both native and nonnative speakers to communicate easily and comfortably in social, business and academic situations. Students learn how to successfully apply communication theory in a variety of contexts such as conversation, interviewing, small group discussion and public address.

CS 1B: Learning American English and Culture from Movies
Communication Studies 1A & 1B comprise a unique six-week intensive institute of study designed for nonnative speakers
These two interlinked courses teach both native and nonnative speakers to interact effectively and comfortably using everyday American-style English. Through public speaking assignments (1A) and classroom workshops on popular American movies (1B) students will quickly increase their ability to communicate while understanding how Americans speak, think and act in everyday life.

This course teaches both native and nonnative speakers how to effectively communicate with
Americans in everyday life by the interactive, guided viewing of popular films. Through classroom workshops, discussions and presentations, students will gain a greater speaking fluency while
experiencing American culture firsthand.
