Bachelor of Science in Sport Management
The Sport Management major at Sacred Heart University provides students with the knowledge, competencies, and skills necessary managmeent positions
in the sport industry. The increasing complexity of sport business, interest of the media, globalization, and the influence especially new media, have created
numerous professional opportunities at various levels. These opportunities exist with profession franchises and intercollegiate athletics, and include 1)
venue and event management, 2) sporting goods and licensed merchandise, 3) sport marketing and sponsorship, 4) sport tourism and hospitality, 5)media
and new media, and 6) sport law. In addition, Sacred Heart University, with its Luxembourg campus and international focus, positioned to assist students to
access the expanding global market in sport business.
The BS in Sport Management as stated above, will provide students with a solid theoretical framework in core business disciplines, functional business
skills, and specialized preparation in specific sport management core areas. The Sport Management major will ensure that students have fundamental
knowledge of and functional skills in the key areas of Sport Business such as Marketing and Sponsorship, Finance, Venue and Event Management, Media
and New Media, Law and Ethics.
