The Helix is proud to announce its
participation in a major new artistic venture.
CSI is a new theatre company for Ireland, devoting itself
exclusively to the presentation of the great world
classics.
Classic Stage Ireland’s first programme
Most European countries have at least one major company
dedicated to the regular presentation of world classics. It
is considered to be a vital part of the nation's continuing
exploration and development of itself and of its people.
Ireland has never had such a company.

Shakespeare's mysterious and
neglected masterpiece
On a regular basis, CSI will produce high standard
productions of the world’s great dramatic classics e.g.
Sophocles, Moliere, Shakespeare, the Jacobeans etc.
CSI will also present master-classes and workshops
conducted by world renowned classical acting teachers
and directors. The Company's first all-day public Master Class with Mark Rylance (Artistic Director of
Shakespeare’s Globe in London) was a sell out success.

Award winning theatre director, Andy Hinds, has more
than twenty years experience in the staging of the
classics. He is also well known and respected nationally
and internationally as a teacher of classical acting.
Marie-Louise O’Donnell has many years experience
in theatre and drama training both nationally and
internationally and is now currently an Artistic
Programmer at The Helix.

Now, well-known director and classical acting teacher, Andy
Hinds, has come together in partnership with Marie-Louise
O'Donnell, an artistic programmer at The Helix, to form
this new Irish classical theatre company.

Medieval France… Helena, a lowly physician’s daughter is hopelessly in love with her
high-born and wayward master, the young Count Rosillion. He swears never to be her
husband… but Helena does not take no for an answer. Aided by wit, divine intervention,
a few Italians and some intrigue, Helena sets out to achieve the impossible…
For the Irish premiere of this most argued-about and variously-interpreted works of
