By Khalid Al-Hattab
Al-Seyassah Staff
KUWAIT CITY, Sept 5: Members of AlKhairan Voluntarily Council has affirmed
that the residential city still lacks governmental buildings and services, especially the
educational and security facilities despite the
availability of infrastructure for these buildings.
Council member Ali Al-Hoty disclosed
that in a meeting held recently at the
diwaniya of the popular campaign, “Nater
Bait” (“Waiting for a House”), the officials responsible for the operation of governmental facilities in the educational sec-
tor had earlier promised to open the
schools this September. However, due to
the rampant stealing of electric cables
from those schools, the opening was postponed until the end of the year. He asked
the Ministry of Interior to activate the
security center in the area to protect the
residents.
He said Kuwait Municipality promised to
issue construction licenses to the beneificiaries next week to speed up the construction
process, especially since approval has been
obtained from the concerned authorities. He
confirmed the council has taken concrete
steps to provide the construction needs like
vehicles and water tankers.
Sources say the artistes were
referred for investigation after
activating Article 25 of the Civil
Service Law which forbids taking up two jobs at the same time,
an issue which has provoked
anger and resentment in dramatic circles.
Some sources said if the
Ministry of Information is bent
on applying the law it will result
in mass resignations of many
artistes in an expression of
resentment.

Minister of Information and
Minister of State for Youth
Affairs, Sheikh Salman AlHmoud received in his office
recently artistes Hayat Al-Fahd,
Suad Abdullah and President of
the Kuwaiti Union of Artists
Nabil Al-Failakawi and his
deputy Tariq Ali and others to
discuss the problems plaguing
artistes and look for a mechanism to solve problems.

Actors Tariq Al-Ali (left), and Daoud Hussein performing in one of the plays.
Minister had ordered the formation of a committee comprising
members from the ministry and
the union to discuss several
issues related to the technical
work to avoid any problems in
the future.
For his part, Tariq Al-Ali mentioned his referral and that of
artiste Dawoud Hussein and his
colleague Intisar Al-Sharrah to
investigation because they are
holding two jobs is untrue and
called in inaccurate reporting by
the media.
In other news, Eng Ahmad AlHamad has criticized the
Ministry of Information for
action taken against what he
called the giants in the arena of
arts - Abdulhussein Abdulreda,
Hayat Al-Fahd, Suad Abdullah
and Tariq Al-Ali.
He said this manner of dealing
with those artistes reflect the low
intellectual strategy of the
Ministry of Information which
instead of throwing its weight
behind these artistes have acted
against their interests thus harming the art movement.
He went to say if the ministry
is keen on applying the law it
should not come as bolt from the
blue.
He asserted on the need to
rehabilitate the Kuwaiti artistes

Kuwaiti people.
