Welcome to the Republic Way!
A message from Republic Bank of Chicago President William H. Sperling
Welcome to the Republic Bank family.
We’re excited you’re joining us!
Since our acquisition of Edgebrook Bank
(EB) earlier this year, you have had limited
access to Republic Bank of Chicago’s (RBC)
many advantages. I want to thank you for
your patience during the thorough conversion
process and inform you of changes soon
taking effect that will increase the value of
being a RBC customer.
Perhaps not surprisingly, RBC and the
former EB use different computer systems
to process your accounts and transactions.
The weekend prior to Novenber 9, we will
take necessary actions to undergo a bank
conversion. This is the transfer of all data
from your old bank’s computer systems to
the systems in effect at RBC. This is a routine,
but time-consuming process that consists
of numerous verifications to ensure that all
information is moved cleanly and correctly.
The EB employees are being trained on the
new software and will be able to help you
with any questions you may have after the
conversion is complete.
Soon you will have access to all of the products
and services that RBC has to offer, including
all 19 branches. Please note the upcoming
conversion milestones and the in-depth
summary of product and service modifications
throughout the remainder of this guide.
Thanks for the continued opportunity
to serve you. Come in and experience
“The Republic Way” today!
Sincerely,
William H. Sperling
Vice Chairman, President, CEO
Republic Bank of Chicago
Safe & Sound
Your money is safe and secure with Republic Bank of Chicago
What happened?
Edgebrook Bank (EB) was closed Friday,
May 8, 2015, by the Illinois Department of
Financial and Professional Regulation –
Division of Banking. The Federal Deposit
Insurance Corporation (FDIC) was the
appointed receiver. The FDIC transferred all
deposits and most assets from Edgebrook
Bank (EB) to Republic Bank of Chicago (RBC).
According to regulatory policy, no advance
notice is given to the public.
Are my deposits insured by
the FDIC? Are my deposits safe?
The FDIC Standard Maximum Deposit
Insurance Amount (SMDIA) for deposits is
$250,000 per depositor per insured financial
institution.
How does the closing of EB affect me?
If you deposit at both EB and RBC: deposits
at the two banks continue to be insured
separately by the FDIC for six months after
the bank closing date, up to applicable limits.
You can learn more at http://www.fdic.gov/
index.html .
The effect of the closing on the average
depositor of EB will be minimal, as the FDIC
transferred all deposits and certain loans to RBC.
Customers of EB and RBC should continue
banking as usual, and feel confident their
deposits are secure.
If you held an account at EB, you now have
an account at RBC. The former EB branch
has reopened as a RBC branch.
Is my money deposited in EB safe?
Please note: If you have an EB account,
you will not be able to transact business at
existing RBC branches until you are notified
that the system integration has taken place.
In turn, existing customers of RBC will not be
able to transact business at the EB branch
until we undergo the system integration.
Yes. In terms of the “safety” of EB deposits,
we consider this development very positive
for EB customers, given RBC’s fiscal strength.
RBC is currently classified by the regulators
as “well capitalized,” the highest possible
designation. All EB deposits remain safe and
sound, just as before, insured by the FDIC
within the legal limits.
What exactly is meant by conversion?
A bank conversion is the transfer of all data
from your old bank’s computer systems to
the systems in effect at RBC. This is a routine,
but time-consuming process, that consists
of numerous verifications to ensure that all
information is moved cleanly and correctly.
How will this conversion affect me?
Once the process is complete on November 9,
2015 you will have access to all the products
and services that RBC has to offer, including
19 branches.
On September 18, 2015, the former EB
branch will permanently close. Beginning
September 19, 2015, you will be able to conduct your banking needs at our Lincolnwood
location. Additional information on this
closure can be found on page 2.

Important Information Regarding Changes to Your Account
Ordering Checks
How do I order new RBC checks?
Must I order new checks from RBC?
Visit a branch after November 9, 2015 to order
new RBC checks. All EB checks should be
destroyed when RBC checks are received.
RBC check provider is Harland Clarke. You
can order checks online at
RBankChicago.com or through a Personal
Banker at a RBC Branch.
You may order checks from the vendor of your
choice, at your own expense. However, you
must change the Routing Transit Number
(RTN) to 071001180 and the bank name to
Republic Bank of Chicago (see image). NOTE:
if you order checks from another source and
the information is incorrect, the erroneous
information may delay the processing of your
checks.
Will my Routing Transit Number change?
Yes. Your Routing Transit Number will
change to 071001180. However, your current
Routing Transit Number will be honored until
December 31, 2015. Please keep in mind
that beginning December 31, 2015, RTN
071001180 should be used for all your new
direct deposits, wire transfers, Automated
Clearing House (ACH) payments, deposit
tickets and check orders.
I am a business owner. What should I know
about my business checks?
Business check usage will be consistent with
personal check usage. Please see a Personal
Banker to order new RBC checks.

What will happen to my checking account
statement during the conversion of
operational systems?
All customers will receive their statements at
the regular time according to the statement
schedule at EB. After November 9, you will
receive an additional statement. Your next
checking account statement will be sent
based on your new account statement cycle
date. Please contact your Personal Banker
with questions.
Will the deposits I make at a branch be
credited the same day they are made?
As a general rule, most money deposited in
your account will be credited to your account
the same business day. However, if the
deposit is made on a Saturday, Sunday, or
federal holiday, the deposit is credited the
next business day. For more details on deposit
availability, please speak with a Personal
Banker.
What is the posting order for Consumer
Deposit items?
Our policy is to process deposits and credits
first. We process bank fees second. Third to
process is non-returnable items (includes:
in-person withdrawals, checks cashed at the
branch, internal transfers between accounts,
online banking transfers/payments, returned
deposit items, and wire transfers). Fourth
in line to process are ATM and Debit Card
transactions. Next, fifth in line, we process
preauthorized ACH Debits. Checks are
processed next or sixth in order. We process
items according to the dollar amount (smallest
to largest) if there are multiple items within the
category of transaction.
NOTE: Please see a RBC Personal Banker
for further details on the posting order for
Business Account items.
What happens if there are insufficient funds
in my account at the time of a transaction?
When will funds deposited in my account
be available for withdrawal and to pay
checks that I have written?
Availability varies depending on the type and
method of deposit. Our policy is to generally
make funds from the deposit of a check
available on the second business day after
the day of your deposit.
• Special deposit tickets, to ensure next
day availability, are available at the teller
window.
• When you make a deposit before closing
on a business day that we are open, we
will consider that day to be the day of your
deposit.

IRAs & CDs
Traditional IRA
The traditional IRA is an account which
allows you to defer taxes on your earnings
until they are withdrawn. Also, certain
contributions are tax deductible in the tax
year for which they are made.
Roth IRA
The Roth IRA is a non-deductible account
that features tax-free withdrawals for certain
distribution reasons after a five-year holding
period. Since Roth IRA contributions are
non-deductible and taxed in the year they
are earned, people who expect to be in a
higher tax bracket when they retire may
benefit more from these accounts than from
a traditional IRA.
Fee Schedule for Deposit Accounts — Effective Upon Conversion
Coverdell Education Savings Account
(CESA)
The Coverdell Education Savings Account is a
non-deductible account that features tax-free
withdrawals for a very specific purpose, a
child’s higher education expenses. At first
glance, the CESA looks similar to traditional
and Roth IRAs. After all, higher education
distributions are permitted from these
accounts as well. The crucial difference is that
while qualified higher education distributions
from a traditional or Roth IRA are penalty-free,
the same distributions from an Education IRA
are penalty-free and tax-free.
Consult your tax advisor regarding how
selecting one of these accounts would impact
your specific tax situation.
Offer may be withdrawn at any time without
notice. A penalty may be imposed for early
withdrawal. Minimum deposit to open account
is $1,000.00.
How often will CD interest be paid?
What will the bank’s early withdrawal
penalties be?
Penalties on CDs will be as follows: “Early
Withdrawal Penalty: If we consent to a
request for a withdrawal that is otherwise not
permitted, you may have to pay a penalty.
The penalty will be an amount equal to 90
days of interest on the amount withdrawn for
terms 3 months to 12 months, or 180 days of
interest on the amount withdrawn on terms 13
months to 60 months, whether earned or not.”

Answers to Questions
About Business Banking
Will my employees continue to be able to
cash their checks at the bank even if they
are not RBC customers?
Effective November 9, non-account holders
cashing checks drawn on EB or RBC will be
subject to the following procedures:
• A fee per check will be assessed for
cashing checks drawn on RBC.
• These checks may be cashed in the lobby
only for a limited amount.
• Two forms of identification are required.
• The individual will be asked to apply their
right thumb to an inkless fingerprinting
device that will be placed on the front of the
check.
• This procedure can be avoided by opening
a RBC checking account, or if you are
a business owner, you might consider
offering Work Perks to your employees.
See page 12 for details on Work Perks.
For Cash Management solutions, please
contact Michael Gilbert at 630.209.4009.
