School of Civil and Construction Engineering
Oregon State University

Dear Mr. Miller:
Since 1982 the Oregon Chapter of the American Public Works Association has offered
academic scholarships to full-time civil engineering students who plan to pursue a career in
public works.
This year a $3000 scholarship will be made available to an eligible candidate from each of the
following schools: Oregon Institute of Technology, Oregon State University, and Portland
State University. It is our practice to award half of each scholarship at the beginning of Fall
Term and the remainder at the beginning of Winter Term.
Scholarship recipients will be invited to be recognized during the Oregon Chapter APWA
Fall Conference scheduled to be held at Pendleton, Oregon, October 14-17, 2014. Free
registration, conference meals, and room accommodations will be provided for scholarship
winners by the Chapter. In addition, Oregon APWA will continue its policy of waiving
registration fees for other students and for faculty who wish to attend the Chapter’s Spring and
Fall conferences. (See our website: www.oregonapwa.org for conference details.)
Please submit your scholarship nomination and supporting data by May 30, 2014, to:
