Enrol to take advantage of fall 2015 CGA Program electives

Deadline to complete degree requirement is June 1, 2020

Deadline to complete PERC is September 1, 2018 for students
who have made one submission in PERC before September 1,
2015
 In 2016, Annual Student Fee (ASF) replaces the
Basic Tuition Fee (BTF)

Each January you will be billed an ASF ($600)

Those not taking electives will no longer pay the Basic Tuition
Fee (BTF) in September ($755)

The ASF is required each January to maintain your student
status with CPA Ontario until your certification requirements
(academic, experience, degree) are complete
CGA students completing the
CPA Program
 Students with only two electives outstanding
 Register for one or two fall electives (FN2, AU2, TX2) before August
25, 2015
 You will pay a $250 BTF for the fall session of the CGA program
(September to December)
 You must take the entire course and exam
 Fall session exams cannot be deferred
 No challenge or supplemental exams from the CGA program will be
recognized
 No challenge or supplemental exams will be offered in the CPA PEP
should you be unsuccessful in fall session
 Dates fall exam results are released
 CGA summer exam results released on October 30, 2015
 CGA deferred, challenge and supplemental examinations will not be
offered in the final fall session
 Refer to the Student Handbook for important fall session dates
What if I do not complete my
CGA courses?
 If you do not complete all CGA courses, you will
transition into the CPA program
 If you do not pass at least one PA course you will enrol in Core 1
in CPA PEP
 If you pass one PA and two electives you will enrol in Capstone 1
 You must satisfy the degree requirement prior to enrolling in
Capstone 1
 What if I don’t pass the electives?
 Fall CGA Program elective exam results released on
February 2, 2016
 Transition into CPA PEP at the appropriate point
 Enrol in CPA PEP
 Modules, class start dates, pricing, enrolment open and close dates
What if I do not complete my CGA
courses and don’t have a degree?
 Important consideration: Complete your degree and
studies in the CPA program concurrently. Avoid
having an extended time gap between your CPA
studies and when you begin Capstone 1
 Enrol in Capstone 1, Capstone 2 and CFE, after
earning your degree
 Pay annual student fees each January to maintain
status as student in good standing with CPA Ontario
 This will ensure you have until September 1, 2018 to earn
your experience and June 1, 2020 to earn your degree.

program after August 31, 2015
 CGA advanced level courses complete but will not
complete certification level courses, have a degree =
enrol in CPA PEP
 Enrol in the CPA program at the appropriate level according to
the pre-requisites you have earned as soon as possible
 Enrolment opens for the CPA PEP Winter 2016 offering on
October 19 and closes November 30, 2015
 Summer CGA Program exam results are released on October
30, 2015
 Visit gocpaontario.ca for a list of available CPA PEP modules,
class start dates, pricing, and enrolment open and close dates

program post August 31, 2015

 If you do not have a degree, have finished the CGA
advanced courses but will not complete certification
level courses, enrol in CPA PEP
 Enrol for the appropriate module as soon as possible
 You must have a degree to enrol in Capstone 1
 Important consideration: Complete your degree and studies in
the CPA program concurrently. Avoid having an extended time

complete PEP, the practical experience requirement, and a

CPA transition map

CGA foundation through advanced
level students with degree not yet
satisfied
 If you are a student in the CGA foundation through
advanced levels and have not satisfied the degree
requirement, you are advised to take degree credit CPA
pre-requisite courses at a recognized degree-granting
institution.
 In June 2015, CPA Ontario will send a CGA Program transcript to all
students whose records indicate that their degree requirement is not
yet satisfied
 This will allow you to enrol in a degree program and receive credit for
your CGA studies to date
 If you have satisfied the degree requirement and have not notified
CPA Ontario, please do so immediately

granting institutions that will accept your credits
from the CGA program:

Option 1: Complete using CGA PERC tool
 Continue using PERC, you must submit at least 1 employment file in PERC
before September 1, 2015
 All students reporting in PERC must meet the experience requirements by
September 1, 2018
 If you do not meet the experience requirement in PERC by September 1,
2018 you will be transitioned to the CPA PERT tool
Option 2: Complete using CPA PERT tool
 Students who have not submitted experience in PERC by September 1,
2015 will be subject to practical experience requirement of the CPA Program
and must report in CPA PERT

 Students are required to pay a $600 Annual Student Fee
(ASF) in January.
 The ASF is invoiced by CPA Ontario in January of each
year.
 In the coming months you will receive a new CPA
Ontario ID number that you will use to enrol in the CPA
Program or other student matters not pertaining to the
CGA Program.
 You will continue to use your CGA student number for
all on-line services pertaining to the CGA program.
 You will continue to use the CGA online environment
for CGA courses.
