Absolutism
Introduction
During the time known as the Renaissance, free thinkers called philosophers started to come up with
ideas about rights and how they can be protected. It was a big issue at the time because ruling many
countries were a group of Absolute Monarchs. An absolute Monarch is a ruler that has absolute control
over everything. Needless to say, people who wanted to be free would like the situation to change from
being ruled by Absolute Monarchs to a different government that gave them a say in what goes on.
Task
In this lesson you will be going to a website to learn about the absolute rulers. Follow the directions the
website tells you on how to complete the assignment. The list of absolute rulers is on this page.
