Flanders and Swann, alongside the poetic wit of Sir
John Betjeman, bringing a little nostalgia for a by-gone
world and the gentle humour exemplified by these
arch-observers of the British national character.

Janet Seidel Trio
Janet, David & Chuck return for a night of mellow,
acoustic, instrumental interplay, framing unique
vocals from Janet. This is not a Piaf tribute show,
though there will be a few favourites but in the trio's
own style - really jazz standards with a French twist.

We occupy a Grade II listed building, formerly a village
grammar school, on the A6 at Beetham where, with funding
from various sources, including the National Lottery, we have
developed a compact 80 seat auditorium, with comfortable
raked seating, exhibition area, a small bar & floodlit car park.

Isosceles Theatre Company
Beckett’s Last Act
In the 1970’s Samuel Beckett is deeply troubled by the latest
production of his acclaimed play ‘Krapp’s Last Tape’. On the
day of the first performance, Beckett’s looming presence
disturbs all those involved and this leads to the unexpected
and cataclysmic events on which this play is based.

Kendal
Rachel primarily creates print,
using techniques such as
etching and collography. She develops her techniques
using materials such as latex, shoe polish and wood.
She also enjoys drawing and painting as part of the
development process, using ink and acrylic, tending to
let the idea lead the nature of the method she chooses.

Milnthorpe
Roy Martin has lived in the Milnthorpe area for
over thirty years, during which time, in the
pursuit of his hobby, he has amassed a large
collection of photographs of the locality, which
reflect the changing nature of the environment
and the fleeting nature of the local weather.

Ormskirk
Kathy sculpts mostly in clay, casting into plaster and
occasionally bronze and carved stone. She has also
produced varying amounts of painting, traditional and
digital, which she continues to work on, though her focus
is on sculpture. She exhibits on a regular basis and has a
variety of work in private hands locally and internationally.

Philip Hutchinson
London, 1888: Jack the Ripper is killing prostitutes. 125 years
on, all most people know of this serial killer are myths and
theories. Philip is an author, guide and lecturer on the Ripper
murders, regarded as a world authority on the case. He'll tell
you just the facts, with some unexpected laughs thrown in.

An older couple are about to celebrate their 45th
Wedding Anniversary when a ghost from the past
arrives, in the form of a letter concerning a previous
girlfriend, who died many years before, disturbing the

The Biber Ensemble
Bach and Handel were two of the towering giants of
the Baroque, but were they the same? The Biber
Ensemble – Louise Latham, baroque violin and Ann

Swedish housewife in the early 1900’s, who wins a

Royal Northern College of Music
Recent winners of the 2015 Weil Prize, these
four young British musicians met during their
studies at the RNCM and studied as scholars at
the Dartington International Summer School
receiving coaching from violinist Thomas Gould.

Red Dragonfly return with another exciting English
adaptation of a Chinese classic. Based on the
ancient Chinese legend of DiaoChan, part of the
Romance of the Three Kingdoms, this colourful
production has been called a Chinese Macbeth.

This adaptation of Sondheim’s clever and humorous
musical intertwines the plots of several classic fairy
tales, Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel
and Jack and the Beanstalk, tied together by a story of
a baker and his wife and their desire to have a child.

The Olympus Clarinet Quintet Royal College of Music
Clarinettist Jack Horrocks from Milnthorpe and his
string playing colleagues, perform the core clarinet
quintet repertoire, such as Mozart and Brahms and a
range of smaller chamber works, as well as
premiering new works by up and coming composers.
Five in a Bar return for this double bill. Following their
guiding maxim “songs of meaning sung with feeling”, for
which they improvise their own harmonies and
arrangements, they prepare us for Clare Pollard’s poetry
of - ‘love in all its beautiful, messy, stupid complexity”.

A heart-warming story about a young duckling and her attempt
to discover her real place in the icy winter world, despite the
meddling of many different characters. Beginning with a

dances, jokes and heart wrenching moments along the way.

Warton Drama Group
The story of identical twins separated by a storm and
surviving a shipwreck is amongst the most loved and
memorable of Shakespeare’s comedies. This tale of

Emily Robinson (Soprano) and Charles Edmondson
(Piano), present a varied programme of music for voice and
piano. Charles has been a regular visitor to the Heron and

the musical spectrum, performs regularly in the North West.
