five modules and two separate

Cost Accounting Standards (Draft)
The National Council of ICMA Pakistan has tasked the Technical Support and Practice Development (TSPD)
Committee to finalize the draft Cost Accounting Standards (CASs). Accordingly, the TSPD Committee organized
meetings on 27th August and 29th August, 2014, respectively at Islamabad to review and finalize three draft
Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) on Packing Material Cost (CAS-9); Variance Analysis (CAS-10) and Captive
Consumption (CAS-11). These meetings were chaired by Mr. Ghulam Mustafa Qazi, Vice President and Chairman
TSPD Committee and attended by the practicing members of the Institute.

A seminar on 'Examination
Techniques' was organized on
August 09 2014 at Main Campus,

guide students as to how they
could overcome mistakes

examinations. The Seminar was followed by

Spring 2014 Examinations
Spring 2014 examinations were held from
August 18, 2014 to August 27, 2014
simultaneoulsy at ICMA Pakistan's Centres and
Campuses in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad,
Faisalabad, Multan, Peshawar, Hyderabad,
Mirpurkhas, Gilgit, Sargodha, Abbottabad and
Gujrat. These examinations were also held
overseas in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) and Dubai
(UAE), respectively.

Karachi Branch Council
Job Fair - 2014
South Region organized a JOB FAIR-2014 on August 30, 2014 at the main campus, Karachi with the objective to
increase employment opportunities for members/ qualified and students. The event was participated by fourty
national and multinational companies namely the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Toyota, Pak Suzuki, Abbott
Laboratories, Sanofi, Master Molty Foam, General Tyres, Siemens, Shabbir Tiles, Summit Bank, British Council,
Muller & Phipps, AKD Investment Management Limited, Rozee.Pk etc who conducted on the spot interviews.
Around 2,000 students, qualified and members participated in the job fair. Mr. Jawed Mansha, Chairman CR&C
Committee, Mr. Abdul Wasey Khan, Honorary Secretary and Mr. Shaham Ahmed, Chairman KBC also attended
job fair and presented memento to participating companies.

Workshop on Entrepreneurship Road to Self-Sufficiency
A Workshop on 'Entrepreneurship – Road to Self
Sufficiency' was organized on August 8 & 9, 2014
which was conducted by Ms. Shazia Baig, a
renowned trainer and consultant and former Deputy
Director of SECP. She has around twelve years of
experience in corporate matters. The objective of this
workshop was to enhance the entrepreneurial skills
of members and students and to ensure their career
growth. The trainer also conducted a comprehensive
and methodical exercise to develop a business plan.
The participants took keen interest and developed a
mock business plan and presented their ideas.

Members Family Festival - 2014
ICMA Pakistan organized "Members
Family Festival-2014" on 23 August,
2014 at Royal Palm Golf & Country Club,
Lahore. Mr. Zia-ul-Mustafa, President
ICMA Pakistan and Mr. Muhammad
Yasin, Chairman, Branch Council were
the main speakers. Mr. Shahzad Ahmed
Awan, Honorary Treasurer was also
present.

Workshop on "MS-Office 2010”
Lahore Branch Council organized a workshop on "MS-Office 2010" from 6th to 13th August, 2014 at ICMA Lahore.
Mr. Tahir Mehmood Fazal was the main trainer. Other speakers at the program included Mr. Muhammad Yasin,
Chairman, Branch Council and Mr. Muhammad Shahid, ACMA, Secretary, LBC.

Employees Eid Milan
An Employees Eid-Milan get-together was arranged on August 2, 2014 at Islamabad Campus which was
attended by all the employees of Islamabad. Mr. Ghulam Mustafa Qazi, Vice President ICMA Pakistan was also
present on this occasion and greeted the employees.
Career Counseling Seminar
A Career Counseling Seminar was organized on August 11, 2014 at Islamabad Campus during which the
parent of aspiring students and professionals were briefed about the CMA program and course outlines. About
50 students and their parents attended the Seminar.

Eid Milan Party
Faisalabad Branch Council organized an "Eid Milan Party" on 13th August, 2014. Mr. Naeem Haider, FCMA
Chairman Faisalabad Branch Council, Mr. Muhammad Iqbal Ghori, FCMA, Mr. Muhammad Kashif Tajammul,
FCMA, Chairman, Members Welfare & Social Coordination Committee of FBC also attended the program.
Dignitary Visit
Mr. Mohammad Arif Nara, FCMA, member Executive Board of CMA Foundation visited Faisalabad Campus and
Land for Faisalabad Campus on 17th August, 2014. Mr. Naeem Haider, Chairman Faisalabad Branch Council and
Mr. Arshad Mehmood, Deputy Director Faisalabad Campus also accompanied him.
Seminar on Performance Management
Faisalabad Branch Council organized a Seminar on "Performance
Management" on 29thAug, 2014. Mr. Ahmad Saleem, FCA was the main
speaker at the event. Mr. Naeem Haider, Chairman Faisalabad Branch
Council and Mr. Abdul Shakoor, Chairman CPD Committee also attended
the seminar.

Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Branch Council
Pakistan Embassy in Saudi Arabia extends support and
Cooperation to KSA Branch Council of ICMA Pakistan
The Pakistan Embassy in Saudi Arabia has extended its support and patronage to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA)
Branch Council of ICMA Pakistan. Mr. Khayyam Akbar, Minister/Charged d' Affaires (a.i.), of the Pakistan Mission vide
his letter dated 5thAugust 2014 has acknowledged the letter sent in this respect to H.E. Muhammad Naeem Khan,
Pakistan Ambassador in Saudi Arabia by Mr. Zia ul Mustafa, President & Chief Executive ICMA Pakistan intimating
about the formation of KSA Chapter of ICMA Pakistan which would help KSA-based members in fields of professional
development, especially management accounting. It would also assist the Pakistani Embassy in tasks like providing
services to the Pakistani community, image building of Pakistan and promotion of country's exports to the Kingdom.
Mr. Waseem Ahmad, Chairman and the entire Branch Council of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia deserve appreciation on
achievement of this milestone. It is hoped that the with the support and cooperation of Pakistan Embassy, the KSA
Branch Council will touch new professional heights and play a dynamic role in establishing and strengthening
relations with other professional accounting bodies in the Kingdom.
