On the CityU Homepage (http://www.cityu.edu.hk) you can find University news for visitors and CityU members on
the front page and under the four tabs – My CityU, Prospective Students, Visitors & Friends, and Outreach &
Enterprise. The homepage also reaches out to the Internet via Youtube, Facebook, Flickr, Twitter and Issus.
From the CityU Homepage, select “Students” or “e-Portal/Blackboard” to take you to the Student Homepage and
e-Portal.
The President’s blog
CAP – CityU Announcement Portal
This is the Student Homepage:
ƒ You can blog with the University President via his “Way to Kuo Blog”.
ƒ “CAP” is the CityU Announcement Portal that you must check EVERYDAY for announcements from the
University, your College and your Department. Daily announcement digest (summary) will also be emailed to you.
As needed, SMS of CAP messages will be sent to your SMS phone number that you have registered in AIMS.
Software & Services
This is the Student Homepage:
ƒ “Software & Services” takes you to the computer software and services that are installed in the on-campus
student computer network inside the Computing Services Centre; these tools are not accessible off-campus.
Login to e-Portal/Blackboard
CAP, Email, AIMS, and CityUWiki
ƒ Enter your Electronic ID (EID) and password to login the e-Portal/Blackboard to access your e-courses.
ƒ There are also links to CAP where you check for daily campus announcement, Email to access your university
mailbox; AIMS where you use to add/drop courses, view your grades, and apply for lockers and student residence,
etc; and, CityUWiki with social networking tools for university administrative use.
After you log in e-Portal/Blackboard, on the top you will see the five tabs of services, namely:

Change Password
To change the password of your Electronic ID, select the Change Password option. As your Electronic ID and
password are used to login e-Portal/Blackboard, CAP, Email, and AIMS; any changes will apply to all. Please
use a strong password, remember it, and keep it a secret to yourself only.
“My CityU” contains links to CAP, Email and AIMS, these links are also found on the Student Homepage before
you login.
Under “Teaching & Learning” you will find useful study tips and resources to help you maximize your learning.
“Blackboard User Guides for Students” contains useful information on how to access your e-Courses.
Under “Univ. Services (Student)” you can find Library resources related to your courses and tools to support your
learning, e.g. Subject-based Library Resources/ Course Reserves, Electronic Resources.
On the same page are essential services and information provided by offices like the Academic Regulations and
Records Office, the Student Development Services, the Computing Services Centre and the School of Graduate
Studies.
“Facilities Booking” helps you reserve sports facilities, venues, notebook computer and student terminal.
Remember that you MUST log out from the e-Portal/Blackboard after using it especially if you are using a
public terminal. Otherwise, your portal information and e-courses will be seen and can be misused by others!
Email in CityU
Link to your CityU email and related services are available on the Student Homepage, and also within the ePortal/Blackboard.
If you have already logged on to the e-Portal/Blackboard, click “WebMail” to access your mailbox.
This is the WebMail login page. If you need help, click FAQ at the bottom.
If you want to change your email account settings (such as password, email forwarding or email alias), click
the “CityU Email Services” link.
“Account Management” contains tools that help you manage your email account, e.g. email forwarding, will
forward mails send to your university email accounts to your other personal email account.
Please note that, your university email account is the official email means of communication between
you and the university, if you need to email the university, you must send email with your university
email account i.e. your-EID@student.cityu.edu.hk.
