Persuasive Essay – Field Trip
Imagine if we had the opportunity to travel to any of the great ancient
civilizations we have studied this year in 6th grade! Where would you visit?
What artifacts would you want to see? What will you learn from your trip?
Egypt to see the great pyramids and the Ciaro Museum.
India to visit the Taj Mahal or to visit one of the many Buddhist Temples.
China to see The Great Wall and splendid cities.
Hebrews to see where Moses parted the Red Sea!
Greece to see the influential architecture and where democracy was
developed.
Rome to see the Pantheon and the remains of the Coliseum.
• Objective of your essay: persuade your audience (all 6th grade teachers
and students, plus the T.B.M.S. Principal and Vice Principal) to vote for
your proposed field trip. Your field trip should stand out as the most
interesting and educational of all!

Language Arts textbook p. 616-635, “Workshop 5: Persuasion”
