2014 Cambridge Ambassador Program Terms of Participation and Candidate Contract The Cambridge Ambassador Program focuses on each candidate’s experience rather than the final outcome of the selection process. It is our desire to enrich each candidate’s participation with personal growth, new friendships, and fun activities. 1. Participants must be female and at least a junior in high school through age 22 (as of June 13, 2014) and either live, work, or attend(ed) school within Isanti County. 2. Participants must have graduated or will graduate from high school by the year 2015. 3. Participants must be single, never having been married nor have any dependents or be pregnant. 4. Previous participants are welcome to join us again. 5. Participants have the right to opt out of being selected as an Ambassador if they so choose. 6. The Candidate Experience offers a multitude of opportunities for fun, personal growth, and learning. Participants must agree to be present at scheduled events to the best of their ability; however, 100% attendance is not expected. Participants who cannot attend scheduled events are expected to show consideration, however, by notifying the committee of her planned absence. The more you attend, the better your experience! 7. Participants are expected to act with discretion at all times. The candidates shall maintain respectable speech and manner. Underage consumption of alcoholic beverages, smoking, and illegal use of controlled substances shall not be permitted by any candidate while associated with the Program. While the committee does not wish to interfere with personal choices, we expect candidates to maintain high standards while representing local businesses (sponsors) and the community within our program. 8. A team of three Ambassadors will be selected by a panel (from outside of the Cambridge area) who are looking for qualities such as: a warm, friendly personality; a well-groomed appearance; maturity; the ability to be a positive role model; and a desire to represent Cambridge with a maximum commitment to the position of a public relations representative. These traits are not listed in any particular order of importance. 9. Race, religion, outer beauty, and economic status have no bearing on the selection of the Ambassadors. 10. The three participants chosen as Ambassadors will be asked to sign a code of conduct and contract stating the rules and expectations of the position they have been selected to fill. If the rules of the contract are broken, the committee will meet and determine the appropriate consequence. The contract will be available to all participants upon request. 11. Participants should be advised that Ambassadors are not allowed to have visible piercings (except for the ears) or visible body art. There is no such rule for candidates, although if selected for an Ambassador position, she must agree to follow this rule, which is part of the contract and code of conduct. 12. College plans will NOT prevent participants from becoming an Ambassador as long as she is available for appearances during the summer months. This is a scholarship program and school comes FIRST. 13. Scholarships of a-yet-to-be-determined amount will be awarded to each Ambassador at the completion of her year of service, provided she has honored the code of conduct and contract. The amount of scholarship is dependent upon the success of our scholarship fundraiser, The Ambassador Classic Golf Tournament. 14. Participants are welcome to find their own sponsor if that sponsor is an employer, relative, or friend of the family. The sponsorship fee is $250 for a full sponsorship (or $135 for a partial sponsorship—two partial sponsorships are required) and is tax-deductible. Any business/person can sponsor, regardless of location. We will help secure a sponsor for those participants without a personal connection.
