Prior to Sport Obermeyer’s implementation of

NGC’s software, it faced a number of challenges in design and production. Sport Obermeyer selected NGC’s fully integrated suite of PLM, ERP, and SCM software after recognizing that NGC could meet its nonnegotiable key requirements for a new system: complete integration across the enterprise, userfriendly tools, third-party application compatibility, and high-value information sharing.

Sport Obermeyer’s decision to implement NGC’s integrated PLM, SCM and ERP solution has been integral to the company’s mission to innovate its business and continue its positive growth. Knowing that it only had a 4-month “slow” period of the year, Sport Obermeyer planned very carefully to make a smooth, fast transition to NGC’s software.

Sport Obermeyer began the implementation process in December 2012, and by January 2013, it had major setups in PLM and data extractions from legacy systems. From February through August,

Sport Obermeyer worked hard to stay on schedule and “train, train and train” its employees on the new NGC platform. By November 2013, Sport

Obermeyer was up and running efficiently with NGC and already focusing on 2015-2016 development.

Rapid ROI, Improved Profit Margins

The NGC implementation has resulted in many other improvements across the board at Sport Obermeyer. All systems are currently active, and users have continued to discover new ways to be more productive with the systems.

ROI was reduced from 30 months to 21 months (31% IRR), and more accurate information is helping the company increase profitability. Bannister says the sharing of data supported by the system goes far towards achieving cost efficiencies on the materials procurement side and has improved gross profit margins on components purchased by about 14 percent.

Sport Obermeyer believes it can significantly increase the size of the company with NGC as its strategic software partner.
