U.S. Rep. Joseph Cao to Tour
New Orleans Children’s Health Project Mobile Program
WHO:
U.S. Rep. Joseph Cao, R-New Orleans, will visit the New Orleans
Children’s Health Project, a program of Tulane University School of
Medicine and Children’s Health Fund (CHF) that provides free or low-cost
primary, medical and mental health services, via mobile medical clinics, to
children throughout the greater New Orleans area.
WHAT:
NOCHP Medical Director Dr. Alina Olteanu will show Rep. Cao how these
mobile medical clinics are excellent tools to deliver high quality,
comprehensive primary care to families in neighborhoods recovering from
Hurricane Katrina. The mobile medical and mobile mental health clinics,
which are stationed on a fixed schedule outside of schools in Gentilly, MidCity, the Lower Ninth Ward and Chalmette, treat patients regardless of their
insurance status or ability to pay for care.
WHEN:
10 a.m. Monday, March 29
WHERE: Martin Luther King Charter School parking lot, 1617 Caffin Ave., New
Orleans, LA
MORE:
The New Orleans Children's Health Project (NOCHP) is a partnership
between Tulane University and Children's Health Fund. CHF works
nationally to advocate on behalf of all children and to develop health care
programs for the most medically under-served population – homeless and
disadvantaged children. For more information, visit
