While we have been defining actions as either past, present or future actions,
we know that there are more than one past tense, and more than one future tense.

What does ANTERIOR mean ?
Anterior comes from the greek and means "earlier in time". Anterior tenses indicate an action that happened earlier in time than another action.
By the time I arrive, he will have eaten his breakfast
Take a look :
I arrive
By the time I arrive, he will have eaten his breakfast
Both actions happen in the future, but one happens before the other...
By the time I arrived, he had eaten breakfast.

Here are the anterior tenses and moods :
The anterior future Since you are, in essence, turning a regular tense into a composed tense
(with a helping verb and a past participle) ,
The anterior past you must follow the same pattern as the passe compose for irregular verbs.
Ex : J'aurai pris ( I will have taken)

This means that : 1 ­ verbs that use "ETRE" as a helping verb in the PC will also use "ETRE" as a helping verb in an anterior tense or mood.
2­ verbs that have an irregular past participle in the PC
will also have an irregular past participle in an anterior tense or mood.
